I woulda thought Rogers woulda had the advantage, based on what I seen from her in the past. Kinda a revolving door, how the girls, who are on a roll, rotate out and someone like Radacanu, overcome injury, and she now lookin to make her mark, yet again. I kinda like it. I know people say, WTA not what it was, but these girls from 1-100 much more confident and much more winning on the court. I think it have a lot to do with the 'good' side of social media. In the 70's, you had like 3 females, who had a chance to win. You know? WIth social media, if you 200 in the world at tennis, you a BIG name. Was never like that, and it WAY better. 200 in the world at anything. You a bonafide hot shot, now. WTA much more luck based. These girls are part gambler and gambler types more exciting watch. You get a LOT more out of a top 50 player match, than ever before.

@@huzcer The thing about unforced errors is that they are misnamed. It would be better to call them mis-hits, or something. Because a lot of unforced errors are forced - not from within the rally, but from of the overall thrust of the play over the last few games or set. By the time Emma played Sakkari in 2021, Maria had had plenty of time to look at Emma's previous 5 matches and work out how to beat her. But in the end, Emma's pressure was relentless and forced Maria into unforced errors. Statistics aren't everything.

@@BenjWarrant eh a forced error is not counted as a unforced error. basic stuff mate. and why are you talking about matches that took place 3 seasons ago?

Clean hitting from Shelby! She seemed to be protecting her body, i.e., not running for certain shots.

Clean hitting? Rogers hit an unforced error on more than every third point of the match. That's an atrocious level. Highlights don't remotely tell the story...

@@firstlast-pt5pp so wait you are saying that the person counting the unforced errors as their actual job is so bad that they got over half of them wrong. Isn't it obvious that Rogers likes to hit big and that is a gamestyle prone to more unforced errors. particularly when the player has not played a single match in over 7 months that gamestyle is going to be exacerbated more on the unforced error side even more. this is obvious stuff to anyone with a cursory knowledge of the tennis scene. if you want to put out there your own delusion "Emma pressure" story so be it. I'm betting that the next opponent even though she is a low-ranker who mainly plays challenger tournaments will not hit anything near the rate of more than 1/3 of total points of unforced errors. not anywhere near.
