Emma Posman was somewhat taken by surprise when, in 2018, she was called upon to step in as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Salzburger Festspiele. Suddenly her name was known to the whole opera world, and a few months later she was performing this legendary role in a number of theatres.
