Lol. You are clearly consumed and blinded by the feminism movement. The amount of narcissism that is required to do this, hiring the band, the stage, taking advantage of your power (because noone else really has the ability to do this), and also the fact that Charles did not like it the first time. So if you are in a relationship, the other person must be forced to like what you give them? or are you supposed to tailor what you give them to what you know they would like? Diana making this video was a slap in the face to him.

I think it was very fitting choice to show how alone she was
The metaphor in this song is wisely presented: 1. When Diana sings in solo the song "all I ask of you" it symbolizes her passionate and deep love for Prince Charles in hopes he'd love her back the way she loves him endlessly. The lyrics says "love me, that's all I ask of you" signifies Diana, asking only to be loved by Charles despite all the harsh treatments she has been through as his wife. 2. The song was sung on solo and not duet signifies that their love was unrequited. 3. The phantom in the corner symbolizes death lingering behind; the fate of Diana. When Charles could've been the Prince to save her from the darkness and despair, it didn't end the same way as the the actual Phantom of the opera. In reality, the story ended when the phantom (death) took the broken hearted maiden (Diana) from this world while her love (Prince Charles) easily moved on with someone else as if nothing happened, after all, all Diana ever wanted was someone who could love her back...

The whole episode really shows why Charles hated it. For him, it was like Diana made a gift to herself.. She liked to perform, so her gift was actually something SHE liked doing. She should have known he would not like this kind of "public display of affection" (because there were a lot of people who knew about it and participated in the recording). But his gift to her was a boring old book. And I love old books, but I can see how this gift was so typical for him, and not right for her. He did not know her at all. And at least they both pretended to like it, but the scene showed how little they actually knew each other, how different they were. It was a very sad scene for me.

This one feels more heartbreaking because you see how much work she put into it and everyone else (at least in her mind?) reacts so favorably to it, that creates a starker contrast to Charles’ reaction.
It’s beautiful and so gorgeous to listen to ! But sadly it has a hidden message behind it for Prince Charles. That he didn’t even bother to listen or appreciate. “Love me, that’s all I ask you” - words that fell on death ears from the Royal 👑 family & Charles.

I take back any negative thing I said about the scene. The full thing should have been left in the show. Not only does it reflect the feeling of despair that Diana has in both her marriage and her life as a royal it's also incredibly heartbreaking and that's all expressed not just in Emma Corrin's singing but in her eyes as well. Not to mention they managed to make a song that is traditionally sung in duet work incredibly well in a solo.
