Why is the ife next to your seat kept covered/shut?

Because there is no seat at the back of that seat, The Emirates B777 seat configuration is 3-4-3 But at the last 4-5 rows are 2-4-2 Example The seats are xxx xxxx xxx xxx xxxx xxx xxx xxxx xxx xx xxxx xx Look at the last row in The (X) you will notice that the seat in the aisle has no seat in its back. hope that helps :)
