Learn how to play Eminence Front, as performed by The Who, released on their 1982 album "It's Hard". I never knew this was played on a B Bender, but now I know, and it seems obvious. I don't know how that got by me all these years.
The lesson covers the chord structure (not much of that), the bridge section, and of course the great noodling solo that happens at the front end of the song.

Observing some would say
I’ve been on a deep dive on this song all weekend. The layers! Synth inc. click, keys, guitar, bass. Every live performance I’ve seen, only 3 or 4 from ‘82, has a diff guitar solo.
I always knew there was something unique about this guitar in the song. Great work.
Great stuff man. Love the Schecter info, work you put into the chapter layout.. and the fantastic, down-to-earth mojo dude. 2 thumbs way up!
I didn't realize he used a B Bender guitar for this, good find. Thanks for another great video and sharing all your insight. It's great being able to follow along and learn a lot about the songs as well as the guitarists who made them.
You did a great job on this.
Wow huge props 12 Ft, one of my favorites from The Who. Love The Ox aka Thunder Fingers playing on this one too ♪♫♪♫♪
This is awesome brother!!! 👍
Something about this song that always intrigued me is the absolute swagger that Townsend plays that simple riff with. I don’t know if it’s the tone, the picking, or something undefinable, but even when playing the riff “correctly” I can never get in the pocket as much as Townsend. Fantastic player.
What a cool track. Gotta love Pete townsend . He rocks
Quickly becoming my Go To channel when I'm in a playing rut. Thx

Thanks man, glad to hear
Such a great song 👍🤘
Fantastic
Yes!! More Who songs, please. Consider some from the Who Live at Leeds-a masterpiece and hard to play. Also, check out the Aclaim “Windmiller” pedal for Townsend’s tones like you did with Dr. Robert.
Thanks!

Wow, thanks Mark!
I saw The Who at the Pontiac Silverdome on this tour in 1982. Roger and Pete had matching black Schecters for this song. Great show! The Clash and Eddie Money were the opening bands. They both got booed off the stage, the fans were rabid to see the headliners.

Legend has it only one band ever successfully opened for The Who: Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Great video thx! Any thought to doing one for Young Man Blues from Live at Leeds? There isn’t a good tutorial for this on KZread.

100 percent agree!!

I’m a Strat man, but in order I’d take the SG custom, the black tele, Jazz bass, the Danelectro, the LP, the blonde, the Strat, then the 335, the SG double & lastly the big old jazzer. All lovely stuff, but that black SG. Pure yum.
I’m not sure if Pete DID use a B Bender on this song. If he’d used one on the record, he’d have done so live as well, and the Toronto, Canada (“The Who Rocks America” as released on VHS) concert is on KZread both in two parts and individual tracks, of which Eminence Front is included.
For thos slow on the uptake, like myself, the tab helps.
On the rack at the back what is the 4th guitar from the left, looks bloody awesome
