i think eminem was genuinely on top of the world in 2002. everything he did leading up to the eminem show was successful as shit don't get it wrong but 2002 it was just wild, eminem show album, 8 mile movie, number 1 hit single with lose yourself, i think this was the moment the entire rest of the world got to know and fall in love with eminem.

@@martin-pz6ds those are some awesome memories man. im a 2000s kid from egypt so my introduction to eminem came around the 2010s when Recovery came out. at the time my older siblings got a computer and access to the Internet for the first time, they grew up with mtv and stuff like that so they were already into a lot of dope music and they put me on to all of it but eminem was the one that really played a huge part in my childhood and we pretty much listened to every album and every song and every music video he had out up until the announcement of The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which we waited for and listened to on day of release.

id argue that he came out of it a way better person and his craft has aged like fine wine. I was going on a thought journey the other day and trying to figure out how i can be such a fan of so many different genres of music yet I cant think of any memorable new age songs or artists, especially in hip hop. When you take the lyricism out of rap you just have just basically something you can nod your head slowly to but lacks any kind of substance or character. Eminem to this day still has his peak power even if not every song reflects it, but he's really the only artist i get excited about when they drop something new because all the other artists from my day (classof 03 hs) stopped awhile ago.

its hard for me to remember but I was like 16-17 and he just released the slim shady lp and he had a concert at the hammerstein ballroom in nyc, which is so weird to me now because that place was so small, I loved him so much but had no clue what he would become, that had to be one of his first concerts after sslp released, so funny to think he could play at such a small place. Its hard to remember because me and my friends rolled so many joints and hid them in a cigarette pack and smoked them all, kept falling asleep and couldnt tell my friends dad where I lived haha, it must have been right before we had licenses or we just got them and didnt want to park in city. was such an incredible night

I think back then, he had the help of “a few 80’s” or something alike. Regardless his vocals and performance is masterclass, maybe that’s even more impressive.

Such a huge difference to see how concert interactions were so vibrant and full of energy because people were not so distracted holding cell phones to record everything. Everyone is being present at the moment taking in and feeding off the energy, wild!

I used to live in Michigan on 9 mile in a trailer park. It was when em and kid rock first came out. Wasn't a fan of kid rock but i lived down the street from the little person that was in his band and when he passed away. All i played was em, i was the first at the theater to watch his movie. I've been obsessed with him since he came out. No one can compare!!❤❤❤❤

@@huahin7453 he used to just pop alot of pills. my boyfriend when he had the first anger management tour he worked at the company that built the stage so he was on tour with him and every show had to set up the stage and then take it down nightly and when he would get low he would pay one of them to go to the doctor get him more pills and from what he said if you said no well pack your bags cause you arent working for him any longer and he would get really moody i guess. he used to say you know people would love to be in my position to hang out with him nightly and he didn't like it

​@@huahin7453 I've seen him live 3 years ago. Did all his most popular songs of his career. Hyped as ever. He performed live in Holland. And that was getting 65.000 fans hyped for 4 hours long. Plus, at his age you would say that's pretty god damn badass. Even now at 50 he's setting the bar so f-ing high for ANYONE who joins the game. And why would he you ask?
