My comment was actually just an expression. I've known Em's works since high school, I know what he's capable of. Also, I believe I've read and heard pretty much anything about Em on the media since the day My Name Is dropped. There are couple things I need to inform to both previous comments: according to himself on 60Minutes, he did use to read dictionary to learn as much as vocabs he could, so that he could have them in his disposal anytime he needed to use them. Plus the statement about the book was actually: the only book HE FINISHED reading was LL Cool J's biography. Alright, friendly KZreadrs, now I'm gonna mute this. Have a good day!

2021 lets do this...never too late to start over. Guts over fear means a lot to me. I am 37 years old. My dad treated us awfully as kids, i was beaten within and inch of my life daily, lived in total fear. But all these years later i have written a book about. 20 years ago Eminems music saved me....i was afraid even at 16/7 to speak out. Now i feel proud of myself for finally being able to share my story. I dont have any fear anymore and if the book reaches just one person, then that little frightened boys start will be heard. When i was a boy i would have never dreamt of telling the story...never ever. So shows how far i have truly come and i am proud

For the people who don't know what Em means by "the media made me the equivalent of a modern day Genghis Khan", if you look back to 1999 when his album MMLP came out, news stations and critics alike attacked Eminem, saying that his lyrics were too violent and hate-filled. After the columbine school shooting, the media basically blamed him for it, saying that he (and Marilyn Monroe's) music corrupted the shooters' minds to go out and shoot the kids, which is bullshit of course. Afterward Em was accused of threatening George Bush in the song "Mosh", and Congress forced Eminem to censor the bad language in his music, even though we have a little thing called the FIRST AMENDMENT. So the media made him out to look like an evil man all this time. As for Genghis Khan, he was a Mongolian emperor about 900 years ago who killed many people to try to conquer Asia. I hope this helps someone cuz this took a hella long time to type!

Heh, I don't remember Eminem being the one being attacked by the Columbine incident....I remember heavy metal and Marilyn Manson taking a huge hit. Here in Akron, Ohio, we had only one metal station. 88.9. They went off air for a while not too long after Columbine, because the media blamed MM and heavy metal. Eminem was just emerging into the music career at that point..... Music is not the blame of people's actions. It's the people themselves that create the actions.....Just like guns....it's not guns that create crime and death, it's the operators behind them.

Man, Eminem has gone a long way. In a good way. He's lived his whole life going through pain and suffering, which he always vented through his music and made millions of fans proud. Now he's finally found his solace, found peace, and now he's rapping about how he has no motivation to keep rapping the way he used to. He may be recycling songs, like he said, he may be running out of ideas or out of motivation in general, but he's still a great rapper. Even if his career comes to an end soon, I'll remain a proud fan.

movieguy43 Man I get what you're saying, about this song especially, but Eminem does that too. You're just being stubborn, there are plenty of good rappers, and some do both sides of that argument. Example 1: Eminem has made songs like Drips, So Much Better, Superman. 2: Everyone hates Kanye but ignores some of his masterful and meaningful lyrics. Rap isn't black and white (no pun intended.)

Eminem is one of the GREATEST Artist in music history! Notice I said ARTIST and NOT Rapper! There are only a few MC's ever that could pour their heart into their lyrics the way that he can. Most of these rappers are "fly by night," here today gone tomorrow. They not in the music business to uplift the level of the artistry in Hip Hop. They are in it to try to make a few quick bucks, get a little fame, and they could care less about how their garbage music effects the genre of Hip Hop in the long run. I once was a Hip Hop artist and I know how difficult it is to put your thoughts, heartache, pain, and emotions into lyrics, and then make it fit into a 4 minute song format and Eminem consistently does it with ease. Some of you haters have never seen the inside of a studio, never tried to write a song, and never had the pressure and the weight of the world on your shoulders the way Eminem has, and he still has the ability and courage to fight through all of that and continue to make meaningful music. His music/songs are not for everybody, and the haters that always seem to have a mouthful to say are just ignorant and don't have the intellectual capacity to decipher his messages, so they just hate out of stupidity. Don't dislike him just because he's white, Don't dislike him just because you're too dumb to understand his lyrics. Have a legitimate reason or shut the fuck up! Keep doing your thing Eminem!

I mean, you're obviously going after specific people, but dont assume what people who dislike Eminem think or even listen to. Straight up, I feel Eminem is CRAZY overrated. My problem isnt with his ability, its with his hardcore stans declaring 'goat' or 'rap god', then compare him to the latest commercial rappers. Would you compare Wu-Tang or 2Pac to marky mark or vanilla ice? Of course not. But Eminem fanboys stay away from the Eyedeas, the Aesop Rocks, the Waxs to create a simple, easy victory. Yeah, being a 'goat' is trivial when all you have to compete against is cow pat. Aim higher for your comparisons.

Eminem songs like this actually motivates me to not let anyone push me around. These songs include phenomenal (because i want to be someone when i grow up), and lose yourself (because if i have a chance to do something, it might only be a once in a lifetime opportunity so i take it). For that eminem, i would like to thank you for the motivation.
