Em not homophobic. Calling someone a fag in rap at this time period was the ultimate insult by throwing into question their sexuallity. Plus he did do a concert with Elton John to put this homophobic narrative to rest. Love this song; great reaction guys!!

Well thats the question....does he say The Mother....or My Mother......the lyrics pages are all split between The and A, but I have seen people say that Eminem says "A Mother.." aswell

He says all those things about mom and the baby to show how much people would get outraged unless he was talking about himself and how fuqed up he is.

This is one of Eminem's older songs, and he was younger then. His views on the LGBTQ community were harsh back then for sure. Long story short, Eminem has 3 daughters (1 biological, and 2 adopted ones), and one of his adopted daughters is lesbian. She came out in her late teens I believe, or as a young adult, and I think that is when Em's stance on criticizing sexuality changed. Of course he also simply got older and more mature, but his adopted daughter likely had an impact as well. At the very least he has a neutral stance now. He doesn't bash sexuality in his raps anymore (or rarely). edit: Just as a disclaimer. It wouldn't surprise me if Em continued with the bashing every now and then. It's freedom of speech after all, and sometimes he's just being comical or reminiscent of his younger days. Don't get mad at it. Just know the context. He has a lesbian in his close family who he loves dearly, while at the same time he sometimes pokes fun at the LGBTQ community. That's just him. :D
