I mean, Elsa's hiatus in the books is a _whole 10 books_ , so it was great that they brought her back, and seeing as they had no idea when she was coming back when they first made the anime, I'm glad they didn't skimp on her chara design or voice work because they thought she'd be a one-off.

For me the highlight of this episode is Emilia's panic attack. As for the thing that stood out to me, were all the open doors in the mansion. My guess is that Elsa knew about Beatrice's ability, and that if you open all the doors in the mansion Beatrice won't be able to escape using door crossing. Biggest question i have is when will Subaru respawn and how much time he has before Elsa attacks the mansion?

My guess is that Subaru can’t go the mansion, storming the mansion with an army will just let Elsa escape and coming alone will result in death. I think to overcome this obstacle Subaru has to break the Sanctuary Barrier first and then solve the problems with the outside world

Nathaniel Beyer i imagine they had to disable her first before sealing tbh, she too stronkkkk. So they split her soul and her body, kinda like how the sanctuary barrier works.... the body of a witch developed a new ego, Emilia. While the witch remains sealed. Maybe. I imagine the incident happened because somehow the witch gained control over her vessel and.... shit happened. Thus “it wasnt me” because Emilia had to passively watch her own body kill everyone she loved.... just a theory tho.

I really respect all the hardwork echidnut made in this video not only did he use gigguk refernce for elsa which was very funny but also Echidnut gave us different theories about emilia past even though he read the web novel and knows what really happened ... which was highly appericated. Damnit, I missed the video's release. Really loved listening to your review! Keep making more This episode was really good, had key dialogue and now we understand what arc 4 looks to be about. Thank you for referencing Gigguk's critique! Dona got a thank you too! And Puck has gone to get some milk Emilia's facial expressions were on point so creepy and unsettling you could see her fear, the VA's for everyone was perfect (loved Ryuzu/Lewes's voice). The OST fits the scenes perfectly couldn't have had it better (especially the end). We had a bit of the three idiots, damn Otto looked so full of himself, it was so nice. Garfiel was way too good this episode (how could Ram not love him) his facial expressions and dialogue, he also nonchalantly confesses to Ram. We finally see Ros-chi being the shady guy he is. The end of the episode was so good, perfectly unsettling and makes your gut feel a bit weird. ALSO WE FINALLY GET TO SEE OTTO'S FACE IN THE OP, THANK GOD THE CREDITS AREN'T COVERING IT

Echidna can see all Subaru's memories, but she chooses not to. By far, she only wants to know about the trial and doesn't want to look around Subaru's memories. She can do that though, so it's not 100% she hasn't looked for other things. It's Echidna after all.

Echidnut is that one friend I needed 3 fucking years ago when I first watched Re:Zero. Someone who can share his thoughts and give proper explanations to my questions in the most terrifyingly subtle way. You have any idea how hard it is to find a weeb? One that I can search for whenever I feel excited about a new episode and hear their thoughts about it? Very hard. It was very very hard. Those were 3 lonely years, damn right. I'm so glad I found this channel before season 2 aired because sir you made this anime 10x better for me.

4:21 I think it's like Wolverine in some of the comic stories Where Logan is the last survivor of sumn and people give him 2nd looks at it. In his origin, he goes into the forest after KILLING his bae on accident to run with wolves, because of his healing factor, when he experiemces traumatic events, he forgets them, which leads to things coming back to bite him later on in life. 2 ways I can see this going down 1. SHE is the one that caused it (Comics old man logan) 2. Someone else that can weird the same kinda magic as her(but FAR stronger) did it, but dipped and left her to take the blame (Sabretooth/daken/Movie X24/Feral X23 route) I think her powers can be tied to her emotions, and we will see her losing her sanity and with it, control of her powers b4 long. If she IS the 1 who caused the "ice age", I think we building up for it to happen again. All the signs are there fr No puck to keep her calm Her revisiting her past is causing her to relapse and burn away all that progress in life she made The only thing stopping her from freezing everyone over again I think is a combo of Suburu and the civilians trusting her and being kind to her.

Dude when Subaru was angry at Roswaal I felt the fcking emotion!, My eyebrows just tilted on its own, I felt that my body sinked and I was super angry for some reason, xD the voice acting and the animation was just so powerful that your emotion will convey what the characters feel xD and its fcking AMAZING!!!

I love how you ask questions and make everyone who hasn't read the manga or light novel (like me) think and speculate!

Holding someone's hand when you're traumatized isn't weird at all, so only after watching this video I understood why Emilia freaked out so much about it. When I saw it forst, it almost sounded like she was afraid, Subaru would take it as a hint and make moves on her right there and then. I don't like Rosewall's trials by fire one bit, but they do make sense after reading a spoiler someone posted. He has a way of setting up subtle chains of events that work to his advantage. He probably injured himself on purpose (or faked it) to make himself useless again and did trap Emilia inside the barrier on purpose. "Emilia's past holds an event so traumatic that she repressed it" seems like a good way to put it. From now on, she lives in her own personal hell, having to face something she is unable to face, probably that she froze the forest herself (Frozen Bonds hints on it). I like the concept of a Witch who values knowledge and can answer most questions, but not her playful personality.

May i ask? I had something missing here, i need correction. So in this episode want emilia trapped in barrier and make her to fight with her own trauma right? Then for subaru and other villager is only can escaped from barrier right?

@@jefrimw3 Emilia forgot her own past to remain sane and Puck had something to do with it. The trial is showing her exactly the past she abandoned, so her shock and suffering is unbearable. Subaru can leave the barrier at any time, but the villagers are imprisoned by Garfield to force Emilia to go through the trial and dispel the barrier.

I've been eagerly waiting for this can't wait for Emilia to shine besides the best girl echidna season 2

The soundtrack in this episode was by far the best in the season. The stuff which played when Subaru was talking to Roswaal honestly gave me goosebumps.

Bro, I'm new to this channel AND it's honestly comforting to know someone who adores this series as much as I do. Not to mention, the quality of the videos are really great. Keep the amazing work.

Subarus conversations with Roswaal are one of the best things in arc 4 hope the anime continues to give them justice

Apart from the actual episode, I really always looking forward each week for your post-review and analysis as well. ​@@Saberdud Rough Outline of Spoilers: Subaru has to free the Sanctuary by getting Emilia or himself to pass the trials while trying to deal with Garfiel and Roswal's schemes. He has to defeat Elsa in the mansion, so he has to save everyone in there and kill the Great Rabbit which is one of the three great demon beasts like the White Whale. Naturally, he dies a few times and has to interact with witches. Basically, a decent amount of the cast in the opening is his opposition and there are some crazy moments.

I like the way how you word things, where anime-onlys are led to where the story is going

Elsa: Mark my words! You will definitely see me again!

Now wait a second, if a girl dress specifically up to the preference of a man, even to the underwear level, even though the man didn't ask for it... *Does Echidna simp for Subaru ?!*

Say what you want about Elsa, but she's got guts ...Subaru's.

Roswaal just went from a character I kinda liked and thought was entertaining, someone who's strange but trustworthy to one of the most interesting and mysterious characters in the whole show. The amount of questions that one conversation both answered and created at the same time was incredible. That scene was definitely the best of this week's episode and as an anime only who has no idea what the fuck is going on I can't wait to see where it goes

I mean, he already was extremely mysterious since he literally said in S1 he wanted to kill the dragon, which is blasphemy at the highest degree in Lugunica since, y'know, the dragons pact and all that.

@@talymenombrenuit3659 I mean he was always mysterious in terms of his morals and his goals but I meant more in terms of his relationship with Emilia and the rest of the mansion's residents. I always felt like he was close with them and had good intentions, especially with Ram and Beatrice, but after today's episode I don't know what to think anymore.
