The key is making you 100x more scared so it doesn't seem as bad...
We frequent Snowflower campground and are going this weekend, we didnt know about fire road 19, we ride Atv's and dirt bikes, cant wait to try that entire network of fire roads. We are also going to try the Rustic Table for dinner one night, how was that?

I'd say the dirt was ok on the climbing part, but rough on the second half. We didn't eat dinner there, but the breakfast was memorably good.

maybe bring a sawyer filter and bag or similar and get water from the river or reservoir.
How about along the train tracks instead of 80?
