You burden me with your questions
You'd have me tell no lies
You're always asking what it's all about, darlin' listen to my replies
You say to me I don't talk enough
But when I do I'm a fool
These times I've spent, I've realized
I'm going to shoot through and leave you
The things, you say
Your purple prose just gives you away
The things, you say
You're unbelievable (what the fuck?)
You burden me with your problems
By telling me more about mine
I'm always so concerned
With the way you say you've always go to stop to think of us
Being one is more than I ever know
But this time, I realize I'm going to shoot through and leave you
The things, you say
Your purple prose just gives you away
The things, you say
You're unbelievable (what the fuck?)
Seemingly lastless, don't mean you can ask us
Pushing down the relative, bringing out your higher self
Think of the fine times, pushing down the better few
Instead of bringing out the clues
To what the world and everything you answer to
Brace yourself with the grace of ease
I know this world ain't what it seems (what the fuck? Whoa man!)
It's unbelievable
You burden me with your questions
You'd have me tell no lies
You're always asking what it's all about, darlin' listen to my replies
You say to me I don't talk enough
But when I do I'm a fool
These times I've spent, I've realized
I'm going to shoot through and leave you
The things you say
Your purple prose just gives you away
The things you say
Is for what I love you more
The things you say
Your purple prose just gives you away
The things, you say
You're unbelievable (what the fuck?)
You're so unbelievable! (what the fuck?)
You're unbelievable
It's unbelievable (what the fuck?)
You're unbelievable

It wasn't strange to people in UK at the time. I also don't hear Damon Albarn of Blur in the style. That half whisper, lazy vocal if anything comes from Ian Brown of The Stone Roses and Tim Burgess of The Charlatans, Both of which probably stem from Bernwrd Sumner of New Order. As well as that I can hear in that half-spoken 'the things....you say' bit something borrowed from Pete Shelley of Buzzcocks or even Hugh Cornwall of The Stranglers. Upon saying that, at the time, the vocal I felt was just a preamble to that MONSTER guitar riff.

EMF was quite literally the start of a new generation of music. Their music throughout the 90’s defined an era’s influences in music, aesthetic and the crowds that amassed from them. I've always loved the original British accent in such song and this is a CLASSIC !!
Underrated tune.
Still an absolute banger. Love the rolling fonts at intro and outro along w/ the shots of confetti raining on the crowd. And those wye boys bussin moves!
Still my favorite song of all time. It brings back some many great memories from 1991.
Queria uma maquina do tempo...destino: anos 80 e 90...

Why we don't have music like this today? This is awesome

Mainly because nothing is original today. Bunch of auto tuned garbage. They try to replicate stuff like this artificially and produce pure garbage in the process.....

@@LogicallyKnot Were old now and everything seems to be garbage to us now. When this song came on the radio in my friends car her father had to loudly say "what the hell is the garbage they're playing on the radio now?"

The things, they say, get stuck in my head and won't go away. The things, they say, they're unbelievable.

This song will always have a special little place in my heart. I remember getting my first tiny teal and pink radio at age 9 or 10 maybe and this was the first song I remember hearing or jamming out to on it. Great memories and still a great song ❤️

90s House Parties wouldn't be a thing without this one hit wonder
Absolutely incredible song
There is LITERALLY only one word for this vid/song. TIMELESS
This 90s classic takes me unmistakably back to my first year of college - spring 1992
