I've always thought I would enjoy a black powder single action revolver. Never really had any dealings with one. You're making me want some new toys! LOL

Fantastic black powder revolver. We had one years back but it got passed along. The only black powder pistol I have now is a CVA Kentucky percussion in 45. Lots of fun to shoot, less fun to clean. Although I do love the smell of Bore Butter. I like to put a dab behind my ear and smell good all day! :)

The percussion caps go on the nipples / I thought you just misspoke the first time but each time you referenced the cap you called it a nipple. Good video and this is just some respectful feedback. Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback. Making videos is harder than one would think. At least harder than I thought. I always preview them before hand, and didn’t catch that. I assure you I know the difference between a nipple or (cone) as some refer to them and a percussion cap. I appreciate you watching the video and leaving a comment.

Where did you find those cap loaders? What brand are they. I am not such a purist when it comes to the loading of caps. Thanks a bunch 🙏

I ordered them from Anders Gustavsson anders661228@outlook.com he is overseas but was great to deal with and the capers are wonderful. They don’t work very well with 1860 Army’s though. But are great for Walkers, Dragoon’s, and Navy’s. I haven’t tried them with the LeMatte yet but I will be doing a video on it in the near future. He is also making a musket caper now.

Does it have to be modified to use conical bullets or no
@firearmsaddictloveguns
Жыл бұрын
So far, I haven’t had to modify any of my cap & ball revolvers. I think that’s because I use the Eras Gone British Kerr mold. I didn’t want to modify them, mainly because the blueing would never match up to the factory finish. I checked with Eras Gone to see what they suggested and that was the Kerr. So far it has worked perfectly. I hope this info is helpful to you.

does not the gun have a notch or pin between chambers to rest the hammer on? That would be your 'safety' load all six. No idea who coined the term 'cowboy' load as I have never seen any historical reference to anyone loading only five much less calling it a 'cowboy' load. I am not aware of any Colt cap and ball or cartridge that did not have a perfectly functional safety. But do whatever makes you feel safe. If the 'cowboy load' was good enough for John Wayne in a movie......

Yes it has the safety notches and I believe in loading 6 chambers. The safety police will attack if it’s not mentioned above loading 5 chambers and resting the hammer on an empty. Thanks for watching.
