I completely agree. There’s a lot of videos out there that show how to take apart a VCR but not many show tv/vcr combos.

I’m so excited to watch this because my vcr is spitting out my tapes. I haven’t watched the full video yet but I’m crossing my fingers this is the exact thing you’re fixing 😂 also I did NOT know how to take mine apart so thank you for including that part as well.

I've had two Emerson TVs. A TV/ DVD combo from 2004. I still have a 2013 TV/DVD combo in my bedroom. They are good tvs. I wish they still made them.

YOu probably should be putting a cardboard down on the floor to protect it from your projects or buy a table to protect your back. :) Good job.

Very interesting indeed

i honestly opened mine up and just took the vhs out of it never discharged it but now it shuts off after a few seconds of power

12voltvids took this simalar combo unit apart before.

With discharging the anode deflection cup thing, why would it be bad to try and clean the mode switch without discharging first? What would happen if you skipped the discharge?

because the large voltage from the transformer that powers the screen also goes in every vcr part i believe Aka dramatic shock ZZZZZZZPOP

I have the same TV do you know why it wouldn’t show the video but play sounds on a tape

Lots of broken ones. We are trying to fix a broken one. Probably super expensive to ship - they are massively heavy. Ask around locally. Check pawn shops. You wouldn't believe what guys keep around.
