The most annoying part is the dumbass who planned out these hangers and the taxiways. You’re talking about $40-50 Billion USD at least here. They couldn’t have made a nice long runway right closer to the hangers? I can tell the hangers are hardened against enemy bombings from above. Yet it takes the B-2’s so long to taxi, they could easily all be wiped out as they attempt to launch. Now obviously an enemy would likely never make it anywhere close to that far inland, but my point remains. I was impressed with how fast they got out to the aircraft and how fast the startup and checklists were done. They were rolling out pretty fast, especially compared to some other military planes. However they are slow to taxi and the runway is way too far from the protection of the hangers. Plus the long taxi route makes the response or scramble timeline almost twice as long as it could be. Bad planning! Plus I only counted 14-15 hangers in the long row. So where are the other 6-7 B2’s? I mean I know they’re strategically positioned around the world, but you’d think they’d all have a hanger. Maybe that’s just the way their rotation works, with training and deployments. I noticed they had a lot of UCAV’s/UAV’s stationed there under outdoor pop-up hangers.

Cannot believe how slow the process is to get airborne. If there were incoming hypersonic missiles this story would be over before a single bomber got airborne.

Smh. The air base is in the mainland US so there’s multiple air defences that can intercept it before it reaches. Also only ICBMs can realistically reach the airbase which takes 30 minutes from Russia, China or North Korea which is enough time. The US can detect multiple threats in and outside it’s airspace

America can launch nukes from submarines as well. It takes a good 30mins for a Missle to ACTUALLY reach America. There is also Missile Defense Systems it has to get by as well. America has multiple ways to fire back until the B52s, B1s, and B2s get airborne than it's game over.

Although there are some valid points, and it’s highly unlikely any enemy aircraft or missiles could take out these B-2’s. However I’ll agree the setup is a colossal failure in my opinion as well. You’re talking roughly $45-$60 Billion USD for the B-2 Spirit fleet and those advanced hardened hangers are included. It seems like piss poor planning though to have the runway so far away from the hangers and the taxi process is painfully slow. Which in a real world situation could make them easy targets. I was impressed with how fast they made out and into the bombers and the startup time and checklists were all done fast. However that speed was negated by the very slow and long taxi to the runway. An enemy submarine could launch an ICBM and the B-2’s would likely just get airborne in time. You’re talking only 10-15 minutes for where the base is located and depending on where the enemy submarine was. Thankfully our military and intelligence community is hundreds of times more advanced than our enemies. If we ever felt the need or saw a nuclear war coming, we’d likely benefit from first strike and win. Would we likely also loose some key cities and or loose a lot of American lives? Yes, we’d likely suffer a great loss, but we’d win for sure. Thankfully that’ll hopefully never happen. However to tie this all together I’d highly recommend the President authorize a large scale strike on the two Iranian Nuclear facilities Fardow and Natanz. Utilize the B-2 Spirits and a handful of MOP’s to wipe them out. Stuxnet virus set them back a year or two at least, but that was 13 years ago, and I’m sure Iran is close. If they don’t already have at least one nuclear bomb. They absolutely have enough enriched uranium to make some dirty bombs and could do some serious damage to Israel and or the Straight of Hormuz. Although Iran could easily do the latter without any nuclear option. Iran and Yemen are already causing major disruptions to international shipping. Now seems like the time, or it’s past the time…to take out Iran’s nuclear “ambitions!” Which are pure evil. Not purely scientific as their lying asses claim. Biden has made friends with our enemies and is trying to legitimize the Taliban. Whom we fought for 20 plus years and was and remains our enemy. Biden actually gave the Taliban leaders the entire lists of names and identifiers of Afghans who helped us during the GWOT. Some were let through and got onto planes to the USA, but many didn’t and have and are being killed, kidnapped and tortured. We also send the Taliban money, on top of the fact that we left behind hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and billions in military equipment behind. Which of course the Taliban seized and now is armed with. I’m sure they also sold off the most classified technologies and equipment to China and Russia. So although we’re extending advanced technologically and training/skill wise vs. our enemy’s…we’re also very weak right now. Biden has absolutely been weak and he’s making us more and more divided. I actually fear a civil war way more than a would war or nuclear war. Biden is abusing his power and the democrats are taking out his political opponent. Using the justice system to take out his opponent is a all time low moment. Even if Trump wins and avoids jail, he’ll likely make Joe Biden spend his last months or years on earth visiting different court rooms. Which is why our founding fathers warned of weaponizing the justice system against presidents and presidential nominees running for President. It sets a horrible precedent that we can never come back from. Biden is no better than Putin or any other dictators. Abusing his position to eliminate his political opponent? Yeah, we’re fucked! Most great civilizations fall from internal failings and divisions vs. outside enemy’s!

Otherwise there are THAAD and crazy anti-air ballistic and missile systems designed to be operated in immediate emergencies as well, but that also depends on what is the closest site it is to have priority to be defended from air attacks

@@jaimeduncan6167 idiot. Hypersonic missiles arent yet available. The Russian missiles are probably supersonic at most. The footage they show is not true as one of them shows a Zircon “hypersonic” missile hit a target. They claim it had no explosives bur even rhen it still had less of a kenetic impact than it would as hypersonic. Even if it can infact reach those speeds, it can only do so in the midcourse phase. Icbms travel at much much faster speeds (up to mach 25 in the mid-course phase) and have ranges of over 6000km. Even those take 30 minutes from Russia, China or North Korea and are detected by US satellites as soon as they launch due to the thermal signature. Also the US invests in the b21 as it is a deterent and actual bomber

My feedback is this. I served in a Pershing combat ready unit during the cold war and our troops were fresh out of high school. Officers often were reservists who only had to do two years of active duty and well they were young men and women too. On a sim mission like the USAF squadron here, we would have had launched our weapons and been back home in time for dinner lol. It might seem funny but we don’t take the time to get all dressed up for the occasion lol. I remember when the klaxon Rand out in the hallways, outside the barracks and on the launch pads. Often wrapped in a bath towel and the straps from our gas mask cover was the only thing holding the towel on. Yep these men and women pilots failed the mission

Hi Wlanejr usually the hangers and quarters will be far away for certain restrictions. Hangers are not accessible to all apart from pilot and crew members. Also when an attack happens on hangers want to make sure the soldiers are safe to escape sooner. Also the food waste etc should not be spilled in hangers as it will cause lots of damage to metal birds 😊. There are lots of reasons behind it keeping away from hangers 😊

In the UK the RAF have QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) the flight crew have to stay in a hut next to the hanger, so what there is an alert they can simple run from their hut to the aircraft which will be about a hundred meters of running in total. For some reason the Americans in the video have their pilots so far away from their aircraft they need to drive cars to the aircraft. Why not just have the team that in on duty physically located next to the aircraft, you can build a small hut like the RAF do and so the airmen and air women can sit in their hut drinking cups of tea all day, until that alarm goings off.

If Gen. LeMay was in charge all of the aircraft would have been airborne and on their way before this video was done.

They should never keep this many B-2 stealth bombers in one location and secondly there should always be at least 4 B-2 bombers in the air 24/7 flying just in case of worse case scenario

Amazing fact: if you turn down the volume, the sirens aren't as loud. You're welcome, to the sadly large number of you whining.

Those of you saying they are taking forever to get airborne dont understand the process. America can launch nukes from submarines as well. It takes a good 30 minutes for a Missle to ACTUALLY reach America. There is also Missile Defense Systems it has to get past as well. America has multiple ways to defend itself until the B52s, B1s, and B2s get airborne than it's game over.

I dont think they would survive first strike, only things left is nuclear subs, even worse if the nuke hyper sonic is launch from space directly….less than 5mins i assume, scary thoughts.

Threat might still be an hour away, which gives the crew enough time to carry out safety checks. No country wants to lose a $2billion aircraft. A little error and that aircraft will be no more

How about house the crew in the hanger in accommodations built on the side. Have the jets hanger at the runway so pull put hot full throttle and take off no taxi bs to the run way. So many ways to get in the air faster
