I think Jeff Dowtin Jr. makes the team - he’s been very impressive and gives them something different at point guard - 6’3 and long. He can D up but also make a three-point shot so I think he’s a good option for more depth and versatility at the point guard position

I’m down with this. The 1st option of tall PGs playing next to Maxey is Brogdon as the buy out signing imo, I’m ok to keep Dowtin till somebody better become available.

Tyrese Maxey averaged 7 APG in the playoffs last season. Averaged over 6 APG on a team last year that was among the worst shooting teams that qualified for the playoffs. What was anyone expecting on a team where Tobias Harris and Kelly Oubre were your forwards? Were we expecting showtime Magic Johnson or something? The standards that Maxey is being held to is ridiculous. The idea basically that the playmaking should make up for their lack of shotmaking. The FO understood it wasn’t a playmaking issue it was a shooting issue and went out and got shooters across the board. We’re positioned to be a much better shooting team which will in turn make Maxey look like a “better playmaker” I’ll put it out there like this: Those same passes Maxey makes this season were the same ones he made last year. The difference will be in actually making the shots
