    Subbed! Currently halfway through nursing school and waiting to get several years of bedside experience before deciding whether I want to be a FNP or an AGACNP. Thanks for your great content! It's good to know that FNPs can work in so many settings.

    Hi. I love your videos. It’s so inspiring and informative. I’m a first test NP student, so I’m a baby of babies 🙈😂. At times, I feel very uncertain about NP employment. Is it extremely difficult to get a job as a NP as a new graduate in States? Any chance that you know NP employment in Canada? 🙈

    BTW, all you aspiring ER NPs. Make sure to join the AAENP and take the board certification. (Emergency Nurse Practitioner-ENP)

    This is why I am a nurse and I’m considering med school. Medical school is 4 years and ER residency is mostly 3 years. 3 years of learning everything your heart desires about EM. Sounds like a good deal to me to make 250 an hour as the docs in my ED start at.

    What about flexibility of schedule? Do ER NPs get a chance to make their own schedule, like say I wanna work 6 days in a row, 3 days for the first week and 3 days for the following week?

  • @ahmedmirza3458

    @ahmedmirza3458

    Not where I have worked. You give the scheduler days you need off and they fill in the rest

    You say nothing about the many rural hospitals where ENPs are the sole coverage for ER and inpatient. 24-48-72 hr shifts

    @@ahmedmirza3458 Thanks. I am a new grad RN who is currently working on getting my first year of RN experience. I recently found out that Med Tele PCU was not for me and now I applying to another new grad residency program in the ED, pre op, PACA, or in the cardiac cath lab. I hope that I will find my niche. I did a preceptorship while still in school in a small rural ER (level 3) and I enjoy more of a clinical setting rather than inpatient hospital work. I am hoping to land something soon so I can continue my education. I live in Denver and the FNP programs here are competitive. One school said that they only accept 15 out of 70 applicants and there is no aide available. I’m just starting out but I am also trying to plan for my future career as a FNP and hopefully end up in a role that I will enjoy.
