Great job catching this moment. I was on the plane after a connecting flight from Krakow to Frankfurt. Before the announcement for the emergency landing took place, there were some technical difficulties with the seat TVs in the rear of the plane. After they restarted all the TV sets, we encountered what I thought to be "heavy turbulence" (which I later found out to be the gears being dropped down). Apparently, the cabin received a (later false) warning that the gear tires were on fire, which explains for them dropping the gears. So, the landing was most likely due to this technical/electrical malfunction. All I can say is that I am glad the problem was found and identified before we started flying over the Atlantic... Also, for the sake of commenting on the emergency procedure, things were very unorganized in Manchester from getting off the plane up until getting back onto it the following day. We then had to take the same (yes, the same) plane back to Frankfurt without knowledge of why we originally underwent an emergency landing. Boy you should have seen the looks on people's faces when they said that haha...

One of these also happened in 2018. Me and my family were out at a resoivour when I saw a Lufthansa 747 come over at a very low altitude we later found outt hat there was a sick passenger on board.

This flew directly over my house at 4000ft which was very unusual as theres very rarely anything this big comes over Rossendale so low. Usually 737's and bombadier dash's flying no lower than 8000ft so this was quite a sight! I quickly checked flightradar to see that it was red and squawking 7700. You could clearly see that the landing gear was already down. A false alarm luckily!

the pub is better for pictures rather than videos but we have been and its a great spot, depending on which way they come in! :-)

I normally spot from right under where it lands at styal im on holiday other wise would have seen it

​@@zedgie68 23R has direct access to the terminal so saves aircraft from having to cross the runway so less time between taxing to the terminal. Also, it will cause a huge backlog due to aircraft having to backtrack on the runway due to no taxiways at the end of 23R
