    I don't recommend that for people who can't self sooth themselves. Guided meditation mindful walk or journaling. If you can stabilize yourself then it's ok. I'm new to this I can't revive many parts of my traumas but can feel the body symptoms and the anger and grief Regarding dissociations well then it's not for you. But let me tell you it's up to you. I meditate 2-3 times a week regularly and dissociate a lot while triggered but I taught myself by meditation to stay present but not to space out. The more you practice to stay connected to your feelings in meditation the less you withdraw. That's why I consider it better first bring able to meditate well, then therapy and I would have a guided meditation daily

    With psychological traumatas it's one thing but for pain patients is so much difficult. I have to see where the pain or inflammation is and if I follow all time the screen i get detached but i should connect to my body. For those best is to close the eyes and deepen into the body area that hurts trying to be compassionate abd not to blame the body for failing you. And i get terrible headaches after each session it's too much stimulation

    Careful doing EMDR on your own if you have a history of dissociating. I tried this and it put me into a dissociated state. Unfortunately it seems I may have to wait to do this until I can get in with a therapist

  • @melissabird23

    @melissabird23

    Жыл бұрын

    @@SusanaXpeace2u I did it thinking about a specific incident (which I didn’t think was that impactful) and I ended up seeing myself outside of my body, everything around me seemed fake and I was just totally numb. That’s not the way I usually dissociate but trying EMDR by myself put me in that state. Everyone should be diligent before trying something like this but I’m sure for a lot of people it seems harmless (I thought so!) and it’s really not. It would be responsible for the creator to put in some sort of disclaimer 🤷‍♀️

    Dr Inaki Pinuel recommends emdr... But first you need to desensibilize yourself from the matter, otherwise you saw it, you will harm yourself... Try pnl first any video about finding your safe place first... Then you are calm, then you can start... Slowly... Take a hot bath first...with salt... Not directly from work, or from a stressed day🤦‍♀️... In balance, you will heal.. 😁🙋‍♀️🌷

    Guys if youre not feeling an effect try the following: 1- increase the playback speed (2x worked for me) 2- put your phone in landscape and behind ur neck and close your eyes (if you want to feel safe open your eyes when youre overwhelmed) It was extremely effective. I dont know how to explain it. Its like your mind had a workout or something. You will feel relaxed instantly after. Personally, i started laughing. Good luck Disclaimer: be careful! If its too potent, stop immediately. Some people are having out of body experiences. I suggest doing it very briefly until you can control your mind.

    The algorithm is the following: 1. Do some short breathing exercises like box-breathing (optional) 2. Think about negative feelings in the body or emotions you would like to solve. It works even with pain 3. Watch the video for 5 minutes. Keep your eyes on a moving object 4. Think about your problem again and check what memories and emotions come 5. Watch the video once again and focus on the problem once again 6. Repeat until the root cause of the problem is clear Be ready to deal with negative emotions which can come. You should know technics how to solve it. It’s good to have access to a psychotherapist who can help you. The technic connects your mind with deep hidden emotions and memories. So you can see the source.
