EMD GP7 GP9. Hard working all purpose locomotives most railroads owned. PART 1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Thanks for watching.
Hope you enjoyed these clips of EMD GP7's and 9's. This locomotive became very popular with railroads, as they were suited for every job that the railroad needed done. Switching, road freight, commuter runs, etc. There was a total of almost 6800 units built, and most railroad, if not all, purchased them.
If this clip is popular, there is plenty more of these in my archives, and will add Part II in the future.
Video clips are all taken with 8mm sound film, VHS Sharp Slimcam,
and Sony Digital 8 Camcorder.
Please be sure to check out my many other video clips from
the 1970's up to today. God Bless

Especially when they're switching. When I was a kid, there was an industrial branch that ran through town, and Penn Central worked it with GP9s. I can still hear that Roots blower roar!

Jack the GOAT. When I saw that EL 4 loco consist in NJ, it reminded me of New Castle, PA back in the early '70s very late '60s. My mom and dad would, get this, leave my sister and me in the car in the Towne Mall parking lot to watch the EL high hood GP's. Now the tracks are long gone, but the old EL station is still there.

Funny enough, it was your video of Ontario Northland 1605 that originally lead me to your channel, some 15 years ago. There hasn’t been a bad video yet!

SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT THESE GIRLS! YOU WONT FIND ANY DIESELS AS RELIABLE AS THESE EMD LOCOMOTIVES WERE! THESE WERE SOME OF THE MOST HARDEST WORKING LOCOMOTIVES OF ALL TIME! RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE, EASY TO FIX, EASY TO MAINTAIN, PLUS THEY ARE GREAT PULLERS! YOU WON'T FIND ANY LOVONETIVE FROM ANY OTHER BUILDER THAT WAS AS RELIABLE AS THESE EMD LOCOMOTIVES ARE! @@ZombieSlayer-dj3wb It seems to me the control stands were also different with the GP-9 using the newer AAR style instead of the throttle and brakes being separate like the F units.
