Nice job! Since your not hooping, have you tried pre ironing your glitter to your fabric, cutting to size, and using adhesive spray to hold fabric in place? Would save you time and materials.😉

Thank you🌞 yes..it could have been left and just trimmed at the end, but I trim before the satin stitch to keep it as neat as possible and not have the fabric showing too much on the edges. I hope that makes sense.

Hi, could you have used spray adhesive instead of ironing the glitter down?
@SouthernAudacity
10 ай бұрын
Because it was heat transfer vinyl, I ironed. But if using a fabric that didn't have a adhesive backing, spray adhesive could be used. But with heat transfer vinyl, you want to iron it down.
Looks great

Thank you!
Hi I have a question.. you know how you didn’t cut the adhesive to close to the patch? When ironing it on.. do you trim it closer first or just iron it like that? I’m worried that you’ll be able to see the glue. By the way.. awesome video. I want to try it the way you did it. Thank you.
@SouthernAudacity
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I iron it just like that. But it can be trimmed closer.
That was really cool! Did you ever have the htv gunk up your needle?
@SouthernAudacity

Thank you! No, (so far) I have not had an issue with it gunking my needle up or anything. The HTV is pretty much cooled before putting it back on the machine.🌞

Thank you! Fabric.com is where I got this twill. Sometimes I can find it locally as well.
🎉🎉🎉❤❤ I have that sewing machine. Didn't know I could use vinyl, cause I do have, a few cricut machine's. Can you help me please. I would love to do this. How did you get the lettering?
@SouthernAudacity
6 ай бұрын
For this, I used fonts that were purchased at designs by Juju. You can use fonts from many different shops. I used Sew What Pro to merge the letters and order the colors (steps so it would stitch in the order I needed. Embrilliance Essentials is even easier since BX fonts can be used and you type out the letter instead of searching for them.
Question, what other adhesive other than the head and bond do you use please …..thank you in advance
@SouthernAudacity

Thank you for watching! Fuse N Bond Applique and Patch Backing from AllStitch. Com is what I prefer as it is made to use in the creation of iron on patches.
Which don’t did u use and from where thank u for ur video
@SouthernAudacity

They are a mix of fonts. The top is a block font I think I got from Embroidery Mill, the Dollar sign is from Designs by JuJu and the word Girl ! is also from there but I cannot find the notes on the exact font.
How do you create the box frame ? Am new into the the embroidery field ?

No, I don't have a video specifically on Sew What Pro which is what I use....but I have a few that show how I merge my designs. I know there are some out there, but I will try to do one soon showing step by step how I use it. Sew What Pro is pretty nice and it's not an overly expensive program 🌞
This was awesome, is twill fabric the best fabric to make patches with?
@SouthernAudacity
Жыл бұрын
I prefer twill...but there really is not a truly best fabric in my opinion. It all depend on the intended use. I mean like a patch for a child's shirt... I would use cotton. But patches for jackets and hats... definitely twill.

@@SouthernAudacity to how would you apply this patch sew it or make it an iron on patch...if it's used as an iron on patch will it reheat an mess up the htv

@lorthegamer80 I was wondering the same thing since it bubbled after applying the glue/bond in the back! Hopefully we get an answer!
@SouthernAudacity

Sorry I never saw this question. But I apply as an iron on and then I secure the edges if the item is subject to being washed. With the glitter HTV, I have never had an issue with the HTV messing up. Even on t-shirts, I iron the front of glitter HTV with no problems or mess.
Nice...where did you get the design from?

This is actually a applique border from JLDIZAINS on Etsy and the font is from Designs by JuJu... I think it's the Joey font, but any font with those elements would work.
I'm new to embroidery. For satin stitch, do you use a different type of embroidery thread or just the polyester thread?
