The unhygienic argument has never made sense to me. It’s not unhygienic for men to have body hair everywhere, why would it be for women?

And hair on your head is hair too, it’s hygienic unless you never wash it, so why would it be different for like leg hair?

You're completely right... Hair is MORE hygienic actually. One of the reasons we physically have hair is because it serves as a barrier to protect your skin and entrances to your body (ears, nostrils, eyes, etc.) from dirt and bacteria that would have an easy path to these entrances if hair WASN'T there! The argument that it's unhygienic is not only just not correct, but it's the complete opposite! Rock on :) (I shave/wax my whole body because prickly hair irritates me but I don't care if others don't do the same - if anything they're at a health advantage so good for them lol!)

I agree. Someone tried to say body hair is unclean and should be shaved off completely, then why do we have hair, to begin with?! You'd think that if it was so unclean that we would have been created without it. Nevertheless, that person has a very disturbing history. I happily went in the opposite direction.

Body hair is a sign of sexual maturity! If anything because of this it should be attractive in biological terms, so if you think about it, it's so weird it's considered "wrong"... If you think about it, who naturally has no body hair? Children. Just saying, it's kinda sus that is the beauty standard, and since I've started thinking about it that way, I feel weird being completely shaved.

As a woman with PCOS, I grew up so incredibly insecure about my thick, dark, body hair. I stopped wearing bikinis when I was 12 because I was so deeply mortified and simply couldn't shave every single area that I grew hair. The more content I consume of ladies leaning into their tummy fuzz, their fluffy bum cheeks and voluminous eyebrows the less important my "flaws" feel. A hairy body is not gross or masculine or ugly, it's just alive and doing its thing. Thank you for posting about this 💜

As soon as COVID set in and I had to wear a mask outside, I stopped the plucking and waxing. After a while, I grew (haha) to really like it! Nothing more powerful than a bearded lady in red lipstick. Life is absurd, existence is silly, take advantage of it.

Bikinis suck anyway in my opinion haha... How can one not feel weird when half their butt hangs out and pubic hair might too! I swear bikinis are designed so that random people cna look at us, not for our comfort. Like nothing wrong if someone genuinely feels comfy in them and likes to be looked and at to feel hot! Totally alright. Just for me it makes total sense that you were uncomfortable, not only because of leg hair for example. I cannot imagine what that all you described must have felt like for you because I have very light hair. I hope you feel better about yourself now or soon!

I remember reading a post online where a girl had gone from long hair to shaving her head, simply because she wanted to and was tired of having long hair. Apparently her boyfriend got super mad at her so she was asking people online if that was justified. Tons of people then proceeded to tell her that she should've asked him first since she's his girlfriend and he obviously prefers girls with long hair - it was absolutely mind-blowing how many people were genuinely convinced that she needed his PERMISSION in order to change her appearance. It's kind of scary how normalised this way of thinking is.

My school crush happened to sit next to me during a presentation we had, and that is the one single moment I remember becoming aware of the pressure of girls needing to be hairless. Even though he didn't comment on it, I was suddenly so self conscious of the hair because of what society had brainwashed me into believing. This passing year, while being hard af, has also brought me sooo much healing regarding my body, and now I just let my body hair do whatever and I only shave when I feel like it. It's fucking rad that a lot of women are healing themselves and ignoring these exhausting beauty standards.

Though most are against it, they don't really deep down care about what you do with your body. I'm very fortunate I had two particular friends who were against shaving as a teen which has empowered me to be my natural self forevermore. It has become silent activism to me now. If people stare I think good, I'm expanding their worldview. I also like not shaving, so so much. I hate the scratchy sharp stubble. I'd like to add, as I'm ginger myself too I have incredibly light ginger body hair which does help others' opinions on my hair. I've heard ''at least it's light''. You are allowed to learn to love your body hair. You're allowed to grow it. You can give and receive love with body hair. Do what you like and challenge the normal if you want to. The more you push yourself out of your comfort zone the bigger it will get.

I remember when I was 11-12, I was swimming due to my scoliosis, I had to go through very painful waxing because my mom wouldn't let me shave, since waxing weakens the roots. My skin is SO sensitive, I just recently stopped shaving and waxing all together. And never looked back. Also, looking at the roots of why women shave, it's honestly disgusting. A lot of misogynistic and paedophilic things in the mix.

I had almost the exact same experience when I grew up. The first time someone mentioned my body hair was when my armpit hair had begun growing out. Me and my friend were swimming and playing around in the pool, she saw my the hair (it wasn't a lot at this time, but it was just starting to show), looked a bit disgusted and told me I needed to shave. Again; that I NEEDED to shave. I felt so ashamed of myself and my body and how I looked, and I think it was around that point every insecurity about my body started. So I started to shave practically everything. At one point I even shaved my arms! 🤦🏻‍♀️ In hindsight I should have just told her to mind her own business, but at the time I always felt inferior to EVERYONE. I tried growing my armpit hair out again, when I was around 20. Almost the same thing happened. These days I can't believe this is still a thing. Why care what others do or don't do with their body and lives? Treat others the way you want to be treated. It's not harder than that. ^.^ These days I think it's kinda fun to have hairy legs. It's a fun feeling to feel the wind blow through your leg hair. x)

I’m so happy to have been brought up in a household where shaving was never really enforced. The only time I do shave is during summer and that’s only some times. If we weren’t meant to have body hair, we wouldn’t naturally grow it and much like things like tattoos and piercings, I believe it is a choice for people to change their natural bodies. Societal standards are the problem not the hair in which we grow.

I'm a boy and I have the complete opposite reaction to you being angry and upset that you have to shave (hold on, i know how that sounds). I've been told my whole life that it's okay for me, a boy, to have body hair but I've always hated it on myself and have wanted to shave it off for so long but have been to lazy and kind of scared to? I never wear shorts in public or anything other than a sweatshirt (for other reasons other than arm hair too). Recently it's kind of gotten better, I've learned to accept my facial hair and arm hair more but i still need to learn to accept other parts of my body. (Hopefully i can soon, this video helped a bit) Edit: i read my comment over again and it seems like I'm just hating on body hair in general, to clarify I mean body hair on myself. If you enjoy your body hair or others than you do you, that's your preference.

My hair is dark and really noticeable. I don't even care showing it on the beach, because it's full of strangers. But at the gym it's different. I know those people, but we're just aquaintances so I feel awkward around them normally, let alone with body hair showing... All the other girls there shave, even the most masculine presenting. With covid the gyms closed so I haven't been shaving for almost a year, I just shorten my armpit hair once in a while because it irritates my skin when it's too long. But that's it. I wish someday to stop caring about hair at the gym as well.

Hi! I'm just starting into witchcraft and getting to know witch youtubers. So, I'm watching some of your videos (I haven't watched this one yet, but it feels right to comment this on your latest one)... and I gotta say, you're so great. At first I didn't know what to expect, but you definitely have such a powerful energy, and also calming. I also liked that we were born 10 days apart! (may 29, 1997) So, thank you for uploading your content, everything. You're amazing and I really hope you can feel the energy I'm trying to send you through this message. Thank you, again Harmony.
