EMANCIPATION CELEBRATIONS IN GUYANA 2022 (FREEDOM DAY)
In this video you will see scenes from the main Emancipation event that was hosted in #Georgetown Guyana by the African Cultural & Development Association (ACDA). This included steel pan music, drumming, food, exhibitions and more! The event also saw #Jamaican Artiste #Capleton performing later in the evening...Unfortunately, I didn't stick around for that. Nevertheless, I trust that you will enjoy the sceneries and learn something new! (We're never too old to learn)

I am Guyanese and proud of our people and my country. Many never denied their African roots, for it brought out great fruits. Some very sweet. Keep the ancestors alive for no one can hide the truth. I'm there for the next. Respect to all. Keep the spirit alive and make the ones that came before us and toil that land proud.

Stop dissing us, we’re black Americans, I’m only here because I found out I’m actually half Guyanese and the lady in this video looks like my Guyanese Auntie named Wendy.

We call it African wear, inspired by what our ancestors wore and traditional African attire.
