I just got the Xpressor 500 on sale for Black Friday, thinking I want the new one but it’s my first analog compressor so ima learn it then see after some reviews drop if I should upgrade

The regular xpressor isn't available anymore. (EOL). The xpressor|neo is available now.

If genuinely a ‘totally new design’ they missed a trick to integrate DAW recall like Tegeler and Betermaker can do.

Not everybody has to put daw integration! Come on…touching knobs is why we buy analog, the tactile response to changing frequencies in the analog domain is priceless.

@@musicgalaxy8832 it is. That’s why I’ve built 5 racks worth in the past few months as I fond 100% ITB so sterile. But recall is waste of time if you switch between projects. So handy to have the option. Sometimes think it is worth doubling up on some kit just to be able to have the recall there waiting. Workaround in the meantime is to use plugin emulations until 95% then move to kit to finalise and commit to print. But it would be cool to have new versions of outboard be workable in hybrid mode too. I guess it would not appeal to everyone however - especially the price sensitive who don’t have the revenue stream to offset the write off of a higher cost product as I expect the motorised automation would add a good few 100 or more to a device. Trivial for those who’d buy something an Alpha Neo though I expect.
