Excellent video 👌 Mark. Elvis Presley is a treasure beyond compare his impact and influence is worldwide. I have the box set you have reviewed as well as many other of Elvis Presley's music, movies, books ect. Elvis Presley will always be one of my favorite people who have blessed this planet with their presence and tremendous talent what a gift to us all. I see in the background that you like the Beatles another great gift to the planet also.

Very detailed Box Set as how they were exactly in their day on Vinyl, at the time of Elvis's death there was not one Record of his that I never had, and in those days I always bought 2 of everything and I still have them all today with the 2nd Set of Vynil LPs never ever opened.

I do believe my grandfather was the recording engineer for the Victor Studios, New York recordings. When they were vinyl records. But only at Studio A. Bill Porter did the ones in Nashville studio B

Hey Ed. I’m actually watching this video after I watched your most recent video of great elvis box sets. I can’t speak on behalf of Mark but I thought you might be interested in my opinion of rediscovering Elvis. As a young kid Elvis was the first artist I really got into and I absolutely loved him. No one at school really understood and after getting into other bands I sadly left my love of Elvis behind. However after watching the searcher on hbo it brought back that passion and love for Elvis. By now I’ve watched nearly every Elvis movie and I’ve heard nearly every Elvis song. I have to tell you my love for Elvis has grown even more the more I watch and the more I listen. I’ve turned from a casual fan into a huge fan. I have nearly everything released in recent years film wise and music wise. Before watching the searcher I had kind of written Elvis off after the army. Then I listened to Elvis is back. Wow! Elvis is back is one of my favorite Elvis albums now and he really still had it. I think he got tired of making those movie but then again he came back in 68 and just blew everyone away. I never get tired of watching the 68 special. After that he just keeps going with TTWII which I think is phenomenal. Elvis On Tour and aloha are also really great and show his progression. My favorite music era of Elvis in the 70’s and before I never thought I would say that. I love all those beautiful ballads and almost opera style vocals. His range is incredible. Anyways just thought you would be curious in knowing that even to a somewhat new comer to the Elvis world that he still rocks! (I just wish I could save up enough money to get great box sets like they and the recent FTD Sessions box’s)

@@rocknroll7399 He was like a boxer -- owned by "The Colonel". He never toured Europe because "The Colonel" feared he couldn't control the receipts/profits. And Elvis obeyed -- so much for the "rebel" image.

I think the UK fool album had a sticker that said fool. But I don’t believe the US album ever came with a hype sticker. Hence why it’s not included in this set

Terrible decision not to include 1976's 'Sun Sessions' - arguably one of THE most acclaimed albums in his whole discography but so typical of the ineptitude of those in charge of his back catalogue.

There’s one thing I like about this it has cd text now I can record this all on to minidisc only thing I don’t like about this is that in 60 jewel cases in older albums on CD does not have track listings on it. His first album has six track listings. Only that makes no sense. I wish every cd would’ve had bonus tracks on it. and I wish they would’ve the studio version. On my way on elvis now. I wish they would’ve took. Hey Jude off a it along with Sylvia I wish they would’ve put all 16 songs on Elvis now from 1971 and I wish they would’ve put all the gospel songs on. He touch me cd. I don’t know why this was not made in America but I’m glad it was made in EU because I don’t like the way Sony’s made it USA CDs no cd text I wish to loss album would’ve been on here go record volume five Elvis in concert without the fans making comments afternoon in the garden. Should’ve been out here too and should I had all the albums like let’s be friends it should’ve had every Camden CD on his box set I wish they would come out with a volume two in jewel cases separate like they did this, but I want all of them a jewel cases. I wish they re-issued us it and jewel cases and put all the tracklist on and make sure cd text Oh, I wish they would really make this. Sacd playing on machines.

Really cool box set Mark. I missed this when you first uploaded it but very cool video. Elvis was the first artists I got into as a kid and I was a pretty big fan. However once I got into the Beatles I quit listening to Elvis as much. After watching the searcher back in 2017 though it brought back that passion for Elvis. I’ve been getting back into all his stuff and I’ve been wanting to pick this box set up. I just can’t find anything at a good price. Do you mind me asking what retailer you bought this from?

I'm sorry, it's been about w years now and I can't remember where I got mine from. I think I just searched and searched the internet until I found someone that had a decent price on it. Discogs might be a good place to start. And then eBay, but watch out for counterfeit copies. Hopefully you can find one. It's a great collection!

Jailhouse Rock was not a soundtrack LP (Long playing) or album. It was an EP (Extended Play) same as Love Me Tender, Viva Las Vegas and some other soundtracks. However, all the songs from those films are represented here on the LPs/Albums they were spread out on originally.

Don't you think the art dept at RCA couldn't really be bothered to come up with anything imaginative for Elvis record sleeves?A lot of the photos are just generic.

So the only way to find the bonus tracks is to look at the book included in this set. For example the first 2 Elvis albums (Elvis presley, Elvis) didn’t have bonus songs included

It is a lot of Elvis to get through. To be honest I haven't gotten through many of the albums yet but it is really a great set. Well put together and quality. If you're looking to get more into Elvis this is definitely the way to do it.

Hello, I have a collection of some vinyl discs Elvis Presley RCA from the 60s,they are original and one of them as a Elvis rubrica,that discs belongs to my father when was in the navy during 50s and 60s, I supose he get them from a friend,also I have the SOLID STATE device that play the discs and still works. Do you know some expert in Elvis signatures that can confirm autenticity ? Thanks.

Hey Mark P. Thanks for the video. I have relented and bought it 🙄 I noticed that were a couple of mono albums in the set including the '68 Comeback Special. I intend adding CD poly inners to the discs. Pity they weren't supplied to start with. Set looks fantastic. I have the Dutch 50 CD Elvis Complete Album Collection set from the mid-90's but that's a physically huge box by comparison. This is a lot more compact. I may do a comparison video of the 2 sets. Is there any indication of any remastering on this newer set? Cheers mate.

The set was mastered by Vic Annesini at Battery Studio's in NYC, it can be read in the credits of the book on page 293. About the mono albums, like the 68 tv special? It was recorded in mono, except for the production numbers. The Sitdown and Standup shows are in mono originally.

But this ones much more complete My top 3 are the first, king creole and the 68 comeback . Btw , most of the movies are pretty corny , seen most of them growing up and didnt make it to the end of most of em, lol . But very cool set you got there

Im missing the elvis and priscilla foto as well as the Girls Girls Girls foto in the blu shirt. I have the calender insert though. Didnt realise this one came with 2 inserts. Can i ask if the insert for the Girls. etc is the same as the foto on the cover ? Coz it looks like it could be to me. I will be contacting Sony music and demanding they send me the missing inserts. This is so unfair. we pay top dollar for this set, the least they can do is provide all the inserts.

A Little Less Conversation is from the film Live A Little, Love A Little and originally released as a single. But it was later released on the album Almost In Love ( disc 39 in this set). Rubberneckin' was also originally a single but was also included on the Almost In Love album.

I've seen several Elvis movies and would say they're "ok", even if you're not an Elvis fan, but nothing great. I like That's the Way It Is (2001 edit) but Elvis on Tour is only so-so IMO.

There are a few albums missing from the set this is why I didn't bother buying it there's an album called separate ways Burning Love hits from the movies usmile the Sun Collection just to mention a few they are not in the collection this is why I didn't bother to buy it I don't know why are ca let me down or let everyone down this is ridiculous and a big mistake

@@MarkP yes all on RCA Camden and the Sun Collection on RCA star call All released during Elvis's lifetime but most importantly the Sun Collection as I mentioned the best album ever what they're brilliant album all the sun recordings released in UK on RTE a star called the Sun Collection then later on released in the US as the sun sessions but in Elvis's lifetime 1975

I think that was only ever an EP and not a full album, so that may be why it's not included here.

His best work wasn't released as an album in his lifetime, I believe - the Sun Sessions. So many terrible movie soundtracks! He had a weird career.

RCA UK released the Sun collection in 1975, wich was presented to Elvis in Las Vegas during a show by a fan from England. In 1976 RCA USA released this album also with a different cover.

In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Evis’ Masters. They retransferred and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007. The first release of this was the Franklin Mint set. I wish I never bought that. But I did buy the 30 CD set, the Complete Elvis with the big Book. If I knew they were going to do this I would never have bought the Franklin Mint set. Another good collection is the "Follow That Dream" series, new release coming soon is "Off On Stage" you can read about it here - www.elvis.com.au/presley/cd/index.shtml

It's an excellent starting point.

"The Beatles" liked early Elvis. Later, after they met him, John said, "Don't look too closely at your idols. They have clay feet." His films are pretty awful, as is the music that goes with them. Probably his best recording, on "For Fans Only" (all were Sun Records releases, before RCA bought his contract for chump change), is "Mystery Train".

Lennon and McCartney then went on in the 70s to record some of the worst filler imaginable. Elvis at least matured vocally in the 60s and into the 70s. I love the Beatles too but in the same way they didn't want to be boxed into mop top Beatlemania music, Elvis didn't want to be limited to singing rock and roll, which many still felt would fade. Actually it was The Beatles that pretty much prevented that from happening. Rock and Roll while Elvis was in the military softened quite a bit. He was gone, plus Buddy Holly died, Jerry Lee Lewis was banned, Little Richard became a preacher and Chuck Berry was in prison. Elvis by the time he met the Beatles though had recorded some fantastic performances from a singing standpoint and continued to do so.

$35,000 in 1955 was not chump change. In fact, it was, pretty much, unheard of at that time for a label to pay another that much.

Yet he was gushing and all aww shucks when he met him and immediately after. It was only later that he changed his mind bec of whatever was festering in him. 2nd though a lot of his films were teenage beach films, there are a few good ones: loving you, jailhouse rock, king creole, flaming star, wild in the country, fun in acapulco, Roustabout, live a little love a little, charro, the trouble with girls, and change of habit. Also he has a number of great songs in all of them: can't help falling in love with you, return to sender, jailhouse rock, what'd i say, wooden heart, cotton candy land, you're so square baby i dont care, swing down sweet chariot, etc etc i can't list them all

@@nenabunena Some of his hits were covers of Patti Page. Patti Page was largely lounge, and the top female singer as to record sales during the 1950s, and is said to have "survived rock and roll" without doing rock and roll.
