@@llschnitz three. Elvis was nominated 14 times. The fact that Elvis was only nominated three times also has to do with the fact that he was never interested in public awards. The Grammy jury knew that Elvis Presley did not accept the awards personally. I read that once. It is true that Elvis Presley has the most music awards in the world. But according to the Book of Records, he has never officially accepted a music award.

That gave you pause for thought eh?! When Elvis sang Gospel, it was not only with his heart and soul, it was with total conviction and utmost belief. This is on his 1957 Album “ How Greta Tho Art” for which he was awarded a Grammy. He also got a Grammy for the song of that name, for “ The most Sacred Performance “!!! All at 22 years old and actually when he was reaching the heights of his fame for his “ Rock and Roll” His favourite song in that genre was “ You’ll never walk alone” so do listen to that too. A bit different to when the Liverpool football fans sing it!!! Thanks again for your sincere reaction. Lovely. 🙏👌💕🕺

Elvis always sang his beliefs with conviction, testifying to all who would listen. How fortunate are we to be able to hear him after all these years. As a fun fact, Elvis is my fourth cousin, twice removed. I knew we had Presley in the family but didn’t connect to Elvis until I submitted to 23&me (not an advertisement). Small world❤️. I thoroughly enjoy your reactions to different artists. 😊

Just like singing was Elvis pathway to acting, I think Elvis’ secular music was his pathway to evangelism. Elvis’ secular music brought millions of people to him and he took his ultimate calling of his faith to reach out to those millions through his gospel songs. In many ways, your genuine reaction to this beautiful gospel track is proof of what I say. I am a long time declared agnostic and yet, many times I find myself on the very edge of belief when I hear Elvis’ faithful conviction.

A God given voice and that started in gospel. This was young Elvis and he never left his roots. No artist in the business stops in the middle of a rock concert and sings a gospel song, but he did. It was the path his mother wanted him on. She died in '58 just after he was drafted in the army. Jane H commenting …. Elvis loved singing hymns & gospel, & his faith was deep. His most treasured item was his bible, & one of his step-brothers was appointed by Elvis to carry that bible to whichever concert he was doing, & set it down on the bedside table next to Elvis bed in his hotel room, so that it was there for Elvis to read after the concert, or when he awoke. He always sang with such emotion & passion, & once he said that he never sang any song that didn’t really mean something to him. I have arranged for this to be sung at my funeral when the time comes. I think Elvis was in his 20s when he recorded this. I saw emotions welling up inside of you. That happens to me when I listen to it, & as a believer, I love every word of this beautiful hymn.

Elvis's gospel recordings are sublime (and won him his only 3 grammy awards) and I'm not a religious person, so I don't listen to Christian music apart from this. His voice has always affected me the way you reacted, so heartfelt and soulful. The first music he heard at the age of two was in church and it was always what he turned to for relaxation. His vocal ability is such that he can literally sing anything and you feel it ❤

Ray Charles remarked in the early 1970s "Elvis is the only Rocker who in the middle of his show would stop and take his audience to church, a wonderful thing!" (Hollywood Insider, Rona Barrett Hollywood). Just a few years later QUINCY would contaminate Ray's mind as he also did Michael and others on the subject of Elvis. A man who was caught in lies and showed his insecurities and jealousies. Then recently he was exposed by many in the music and entertainment fields that explained this pathetic person

You have a beautiful soul. Bless you for reacting, he could get to the heart, and I have always said, Elvis had a cry in his voice and it's in most of his song, he of course was haunted by the fact that his twin brother died and he lived. His mother often told him he had to live for them both. But he was a true believer right to the end and even though he was not a perfect man, I think he did make it to heaven. Another beautiful rendition of "He Touched Me' far less sad, and " Milky White way" is a pulsing gospel song that leaves you happy. thinks so much.❤
