He's playing the old Irish song "I'll take you home again, Kathleen". It's amazing how Elvis was influenced by so many different genres, he loved them all and took them all on board to create his own unique style.

First, do you folks understand how much practice (time) you have to put into learning these musical instruments (piano/guitar). Then you have to become much better than just knowing how to play but to play to an audience without mistakes!!!!!!!!! Elvis was a poor kid, dirt poor raise partially by a single Mom, his Dad went to prison for a short time....in the depression and WWII. He had a dream and he followed it.....Hats off to the guy! Beautiful just beautiful. Elvis is just lost in just own little world here, just immersed in the music. He,s caressing those keys so softly , up and down the scale so effortlessly just like a concert pianist would do. The songs I heard were, I will Take you home again Kathleen and the melody of a very old hymn, which I can't think of its name unfortunately, I wil be true has a very similar melody To it though. There is no doubt about it Elvis could play many instruments, but his piano playing doesn't get enough credit. He was also great at tinkling the ivories boogie woogie style too, but this performance just blew me away. The saddest thing I heard in the video was Elvis saying, well I'll see you tomorrow or whenever, that brought tears to my eyes. This is 1970, gone are the crazy days of shenanigans and parties, Elvis had past that and the mm guys didn't like it. I read where Elvis said, the only time he saw the guys were to take him to and from a concert, or rehearsals, that's sad. JD even said all Elvis would do after a concert was sing gospel till early hours of the morning, no women or wild parties as mm guys had us believe. What a joy,it would have been to listen to Elvis playing piano, it seems as though its easing his mind and relaxing him . Thanks for the upload.

I think that's why he had them in almost every room at Graceland. Even in the racket ball court building. Seems so he could play, sweat, then unwind at the piano its self. Rather then collapse on a floor or across the bed after a shower like me or you would.

He looked like he was concentrating on playing the song. What I wanted to see is videos of him singing and playing the piano alone in the music room in Graceland. He did it often. Jerry schilling said he’d be asleep and he could hear Elvis sitting in the music room at Graceland playing the piano and singing gospel songs. And Lisa said she’d be upstairs and she would hear daddy playing the piano and singing all alone. She said it was beautiful. No one ever videoed it cause they didn’t take many pics inside Graceland unless they had company. She did say she wished she had done at least a recording but she was so young she was used to daddy doing that. She didn’t even think of it. Can you imagine how beautiful that?

@@shigsho There is no faking involved. There is some looping of footage due to that MGM hasn't released all of it. The audio is real from this "session"

Pieces of "I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen", a very nice song he already played several times informally and finally recorded later some years later: I'll take you home again Kathleen - Elvis Presley

Elvis played piano (already in 1957).. but he always thought he would never be good enough to perform LIVE-playing on stage.... but home at Graceland on a party etc. Elvis learned to play oboe-reed, guitar (acoustic/electric) and piano (without classical education). The classical education that Elvis received was "just" opera-singing started with "It`s Now Or Never" and made him such a very powerful singer in every vocal range.

That's a wonderful video. Thanks for posting. It is both songs, mentioned in previous comments. Up until 1:10, it's "I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen." After that, it's "My Wish Came True."
