I saw in a comment that Priscilla was talking during the song and he wanted her to stop and listen. That may be true. But the beauty of music, or any form of art, is that each person interprets it differently. We see through the lens of our own life experiences. And knowing Elvis' story, I might not be too far off the mark. After all, he chose the song because it spoke to him.

Ana Maria, in fact I live in Mississippi about 35 miles from Tupelo where Elvis was born.

I have listened and admired Elvis ever since I was little. I am now in my seventies and still listened to him as much as I can. He is and will always be the king of music. I believe heaven gained a singing angle!

Pray for his soul. God gave him a gift of singing so good that does not mean he is in heaven. The only thing that helps a soul is to pray for the souls and to fast on bread and water at least on Wednesdays and Friday's. Our Mother Mary can safe souls for not entering hell so they can go to heaven. (Medjugorje our Lady of Peace messages).

I watched a documentary and the Memphis Mofia guys said that Elvis was hurt bad because every woman in the world was throwing them selves at him and the one woman he wanted to be with left him for another man. I think that he really loved her in his own special way. Elvis was traveling all the time and a marriage cannot with stand the rock and roll lifestyle especially when you were Elvis Presley. Amen. His gospel songs saved me! 🤗 I was dealing with a dark time & loss of my dear Grampa to damn Covid in Feb. when I discovered his 3x Grammy award winning gospel CD. It couldn't have come at a better time. I would listen to it everyday on the way to work. He walked in the Light. The morning my Grampa passed to our Heavenly Father, just hours prior, my car turned on the CD by itself when I started it & it played Elvis's "Milky White Way" by itself! It was my Grampy saying goodbye. Miss you always, Grampa love!

I believe Priscilla, believed in her heart, that she would go back to Elvis, after she got to do what she wanted. But unfortunately, there is one thing she didn't know. That we all come with a date stamped, on our foot. That only God can see. And Elvis, had his. He came to this world, as a glowing fire. But his flames were diminishing, as he tour, more & more. Just like a candle, dying little by little. He pushed himself, too far. And I think towards the end, even doing what he loved, it became a shore, & not being enjoyed anymore. Everyone, around him lived off him. Too much of burden to carried, & stressful. But he went on. Priscilla, I'm sure, she has suffered, & wandered, if she had gone back? . But she was young, & thinking of herself. But she had to live with the consequences, of her actions, all those years ago. We learned this once we grow old. And we wish we could, rewind, & go back, & do things different. But it doesn't work like that.

@@jkllcarpenter I've been listening to all of Elvis's songs and watching everything Elvis over these few days since Lisa passed. My tears just started to flow. Tears for him because of the pain i feel in every song of breakup and parting that he sang. His carreer was far too important to him than Priscilla. When he realised it was too late. Every song that he sings about the pain of losing her is heartwrenching. My husband of 40 years has been suffering from mental health issues for a few years now and there's nothing between us cos he's cut himself off from reality. Im grieving our relationship and what you shared about our tears is so true. I have to cry it out from to time, if not the pain and loneliness is too hard to bear. Thank you.

It wasn't a serious relationship with Shelia the other girl, he was cheating on Linda at the time with her.

When he lost her he lost everything?! Give me a break. They were only technically married for 4 years…1967-1971. 1971 was when she left him for another guy. Hell, Linda was with him longer. Too bad he didn’t marry her, she would have been more understanding, helpful, and loving as she was all along. I’m pretty sure he was done with marriage after Priscilla did him wrong. Again, she knew what she was getting with him. And then having an out of wedlock child? Ick.

@@jillmansfield3843 Technically, legally. Just semantics. She came to live there in 1963, married in 1967, left him in 1962. 9 years. A LOT of the time he was AWAY, it’s wasn’t like a normal relationship where the man is home every day or night. She said he wasn’t cut out to be married and they remained friends. Nothing said about love. But if it was “love” it was superficial because neither one was faithful to the other. He wasn’t distraught, he was mad and his ego threatened that she cheated, typical of a man who lives by “what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander.” Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love and respect Elvis so much. But I think their relationship was way over romanticized. Elvis loved all the women he was with and yes he loved Priscilla too but it was more of a just good friendship kind of love because of Lisa. Priscilla was just one of the many women he loved.

They will be together in heaven. Priscilla has kept him alive.. Elvis needed help. But he's a peace finally. Pray for him.

Some voices last for ever. What ever they did or sing. Elvis is a cornerstone of modern music, Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello makes you smile.

I just happened to hear this song "Midnight" for the first time. He does call her name and it broke my heart. Even though she divorced him I truly believe she loved him and still loves him now. She has kept his memory alive for those who love him too. I wish I could thank her personally. He will never be forgotten and neither will she.

I have always believed Tom Parker and the Memphis Mafia got him into drugs and kept him a prisoner in his own home. If he had taken more control, he would have been better off. He trusted these people and they betrayed him, maybe not intending him harm, but it was devastating. Just my opinion.

I think before we step on our soapbox, you would have to be there. For a marriage to fail, it takes two. Sometimes enough is enough, and you have to walk away. Pricilla was a young girl, and she wasn’t ready for a life like that. No one is perfect, no matter how much we love them.

They both loved and adored their daughter from the moment shecwas born , even when divorced put their child first and raised her together, Lisa even said she didn't even realise they were divorced, Lisa was their priority, always. Neither Elvis or Priscilla expected to fall pregnant as quickly as she did, naturally they BOTH had their concerns, but after much thought BOTH decided to go ahead with the pregnancy, neither of them.had the heart not to proceed. Priscilla wanted herself and her new husband to be able to spend time together, something they,d spent very little of as the mm guys were always around them, Elvis himself had told them that once he was married the partying days would be ending , and they did NOT like it at all. They saw Priscila as coming between them aw diddums, she always knew they were not a good influence on him . Elvis adored Priscilla till his dying day, he was lost without his wife and child, but he knew she had always loved him and always would. They both wronged each other, fame fortune, its trappings , temptations and way too many enablers prevented them both from.growin old together. Their hearts had an unbreakable breakable bond only they were privilege to, losing Priscilla opened up the chasm of searing pain he'd felt when he lost his beloved mama, only this time, his body and mind were in a much frailer state and simply couldn't cope. 😔 She lost him once to their irretrievable marriage breakdown and secondly to the finality if his passing, to this day she honours his memory and his legacy and I feel he will.be very very proud of her. Just as he loved her till.his dying day, she too will.love him till hers.

It seems to me that very few entertainers stays married to one spouse for a lifetime.

No matter what.....Elvis still loved ❤️ her. 😢 Sooo emotional. Listen to Elvis sing....so much feeling.💔

Priscilla loved him and still does as Elvis loved her until his death. They both were flesh and bone just like everyone else. The fans made him a king. Elvis was my friend of 10 yrs. Priscilla and i still keep in touch we laugh at the hater's. Jealousy is a useless emotion.

In one of her books she talks about being at a concert after the divorce with Lisa Marie, he told her beforehand he was going to dedicate a song to her, she said she was surprised because he hardly ever dedicated songs, she said Lisa had become restless while sitting on her lap during it and wasn't concentrating on Elvis, after he went up to her annoyed and said i was singing to you but you wasn't interested.

My husband started cheating, first husband, and didn't make love to me anymore after watching live childbirth, freaked him out, then saw me only as a mother figure, then began cheating profusely, cocaine addiction, verbal and physical abuse for over 6 years, and I truly loved him deeply, but a woman needs to know she is worth so much more, I was only 25 years old, and my counselor told me, you have so much to offer someone else who will give you respect and truly love you, she asked if I still loved him, of course these ugly things ruin and tear the love to pieces, yes, I agree you can still love your one and only true love up until it takes your self esteem away, so then it's time to move on. I can't say I still love him, because too many bad and defamatory. Remarks to me over the years, needless to say, yes with. Cilla. And Elvis it will always remain true love, despite the selfish ways we sometimes all portray our emotional trauma onto the loved ones we truly live, not intentionally, just humanly, not realizing the consequences in the end. Regret takes over, and this is the result of yes, a beautiful song dedicated to her, and only her which is of great comfort to Priscilla forever and ever, God be with you cilla for your terrible loss of your husband, daughter, and grandchild. God bless you eternally, you're true grace and loyalty to Elvis is astounding and very inspiring to all who live Elvis, Presley including me. Yes, he was given a new identity and under witness protection, and believe he still is alive today, but if he doesn't want to be found, it remains a mystery. Damn.
