So happy to see you react to Elvis -he is the best- a gift from God. Many people do not understand that one of the reasons Elvis gained weight in the last years of his life was because he had an autoimmune disease that damaged his liver, caused his hospitalization with pneumonia and contributed to his heart disease. His mother’s parents were first cousins and passed on an enzyme deficiency. A good read about that is Sally Hoedel’s book, Elvis: Destined to Die Young. Very well researched and she had access to his autopsy report. Many of Elvis’s health conditions and, the reasons for the many pills he took, we did not have the technology to accurately diagnose in the ‘70’s.

Love any live Elvis...like SRV ....the music flowed effortless thru them....and no Elvis didnt gain weight til about 74 onwards...even tho he was hardly obese as the media liked to say about him...he was middle age here yet looked great, still slender & fit. Unfortunately a slimmer person who gains ANY weight is more noticeable coz there's nowhere for it to hide!! A larger person can gain a stone or 3 & its hardly noticed coz its subsumed into the body....poor Elvis couldnt win...everyone expected him to look the same as he did in his early 20's....not many do...Elvis looked fantastic most of his life despite his horrendous schedule & illnesses he endured (no doctor wud operate on him for fear of killing him!!! So he had to be treated by drugs only) Thankyou for a great reaction 🤟🏼💞

There will never be another man like him he was the best entertainer around I can see why the fans loved him and why he is still so popular today even after him being gone for so long

"Patch It Up", Live, 1970; "How Great Thou Art", Live, 1972; "Runaway", Live, 1969; "Walk A Mile In My Shoes", Live, 1970; "See See Rider", Live, 1969;....for starters. My favorite song by ELVIS, to "warm-up" my voice, pre-engagement, is a studio track called "Where Did They Go, Lord". Sadly this was just a shell of the former man, he was so drugged up at this point it just makes me sad. The voice survived, but the gravitas was gone.
