Best Elvis impersonation movie ever

I bought my mother the dvd last Christmas. She said "Nobody can beat Kurt Russell's portrayel of Elvis" and if anyone knows this it's mama as she met Elvis in 54 and shared a few letters with Elvis and his father Vernon over the years. Kurt Russell is my fav actor of all time and just a super nice guy!

What they do for the film is put TACKS inside his shoes so he can't hold them down flat on the floor. Makes 'em jittery, ya know ?

Kurt did a great job talking like him and looks similar but Austin Butler sings, acts and talks like Elvis...he does not look like him but has an essence of Elvis... He is the best I have ever seen

Elvis, John Carpenter, Kurt Russell - with ingredients like that you can't really go wrong ! Much underrated biopic.

Great movie. Kurt Russell did an amazing job in this part! Nailing Elvis could not have been easy!

This is fantastic!

Kurt should have won a Golden Globe for this portrayal of Elvis.

Theres a lot of wrong-headed complaining in this comment section. Lets begin with the fact that only Elvis Presley was Elvis Presley, if there was another he would not have been unique. Kurt Russell is a fine actor who did a wonderful job in this role. If youre really jonesing for E , there are plenty of videos on YT of the one and only.

Kurt Russell is an amazing actor, very talented.

This is really great Kurt with the moves and that great voice of Ronnie McDowell but that guitarist man he is something else, I never thought I would ever hear anyone come close to the great Scotty Moores rendition of this song but I was wrong, this guys fantastic, I don't know who he is but I wish him well.

Kurt is great at impressions . Kurt did Clint Eastwood in Escape From New York and John Wayne in Big Trouble In Little China .

Did love Jonathan Rhys Meyers Elvis but I believe Kurt sang the songs himself.. his own Dad played Vernon... not a know-all I promise just an Elvis Presley and Kurt Russell fan. Thank you for up/downloading 🎉

They actually did a good job of having the band's actors look like Scotty and Bill.

It's a shame, but it still could be accurate in that Bill had a concert bass before switching to his famous Maestro Kay bass in 1954.

It's funny life when you know that as a child he kicked Elvis in a movie and then he plays the role of Elvis.

It was a guy named Ronnie McDowell doing the vocals, because using Elvis' recordings would've been too expensive. Kurt Russell was doing the lip synch. Both McDowell and Russell did great job in this movie.

That is a DAMN good impression WOW!

To think that it was Elvis that began the pairing of Kurt Russel and John Carpenter. In one Elvis movie, he played a character named John Carpenter (forgot which one) and Kurt Russel played the kid who kicked Elvis in the shin in It happend at the world fair. Elvis rocks and so does Carpenter and Russel.

First time I see this and it is great. Love that old sound too.

Austin Butler had 60 plus years of KZread archives to study from. What did Kurt Russel have in 1978/79? Austin Butler did a phenomenal job and should get the Oscar for what he did, but this is a low budget John Carpenter made for TV film. Kurt Russel killed it!

I liked this Elvis movie a lot. Kurt Russell was brilliant and Carpenter has a simple narrative style.

Kurt's first movie was in an Elvis movie. Something is right about that.

The made for tv movie "Elvis" is really good and Jonathan Rhys Meyers does a great job.

I love this movie, i've got it on dvd. I hate impersonators and only love Elvis but Kurt is good :)

Ive always wondered what Elvis's family felt about this movie . I KNOW John Carpenter AND Kurt Russell did try and make a really good portrayal of his life .

He also got to meet Elvis in 1963

Too bad Kirt does not so shows doing Elvis since he is the best and would make alot of people happy to see him do Elvis. He is so enjoyable to watch and Im sure Kirt at some point has to feel the fame and way Elvis felt when he is doing Elvis on stage. I wish there was more videos like this to watch. Do more Kirt.

kurt russell is by far the best Elvis presley movie done everything about this movie is perfect from the acting to the singing and this movie was made 2 years after Elvis presleys death in 1979 and it still looks so fresh i dont wana see a remake of this movie i think they would defenetly fuck it up what they need to do is get kurt russell to extend the ending to presleys death so remaster the movie with the extened ending with kurt russell it would be perfect in my oppinion.
