Incredible collection! I am always amazed how bootleggers had acess to facilities to manufacture the actual discs and covers so professionally back then. Haha, I am laughing at your story of taking empty suitcases to the States so you could bring them back full of records😂 We did exactly the same thing when we spent 3 months travelling around America by Greyhound. We found the most amazing record shop in Little Rock Arkansas, purely by accident. We got off the bus for a coffee break and saw the record shop when we were walking around the streets. Went in for a quick look, and raced back to the bus to grab our luggage and book into a motel. We spent 3 days there, the record shop had a basement the size of a city block, never seen anything like it. Fortunately my husband had emptied our bank account back home (Australia) and converted it into American Express travellers cheques. We filled our two suitcases, and spent a huge amount having the remainder of the records shipped back home. The owner of the store was very happy to see so much of his old fifites rock'n'roll stuff go out the door! He actually packed them up while we were there, so we could see how well packed they were for the sea voyage to Australia. By the time we got back, they had all arrived safely.

There were many bootlegs of varying quality but some gems among them. Favourites are Jailhouse Rock Sessions, Viva Las Vegas and 68' Comeback.

Those were the days👍...my most happiest time ever on Collecting Elvis. I still remember my very first Vinyl Bootleg "Command Performance" with the Invitation card on the Front-Cover in 1978. I was a little bit disappointet about the Sound Quality but so what, i was really happy to own "Something Special". I have a soft spot on the old Vinyl Bootlegs and i'm still collecting these beauties👌 @i guess i have about 150 classic Elvis Vinyl Bootlegs from the 70's and 80's (incl some Reissues too) in my Collection and i love them all🙂

That Rock My Soul LP is as disappointing to listen to as it is to look at. The "live" version of Mystery Train is actually the single version with added applause. Those TV Special sets, on the other hand, are still nice to have even though all the music has since been released officially. Good Rockin' Tonight is a great LP. I bought that in the HMV shop in Leeds! I think your version of the Pittsburgh album is a later version, as the first ones had a white border around the flag design. And the first version of Command Performances came with an invitation card stuck to the front cover. Cheers, Steve.

What's so good about Bootleg albums is that they are only released once and are not re-released
