I was only 7 years old when Elvis died the day after my mother's birthday. I came out of my room in the morning to watch TV, like always. And a newswoman was teary-eyed announcing "Elvis is dead." I cried immediately - I had every record, every poster, every book about him. I had even believed I would marry him. He was my first love. And he was DEAD. I mourned him like I would have had he really been my friend. Yes, I wonder about it. Maybe the poor guy did go into hiding - I wouldn't blame him. But, most likely (in my humble opinion), our Elvis now Sings in Heaven with the Angels. And I do what every other Elvis lover does: I look at his pictures, and listen to his music - THAT alone keeps him alive in my heart.

I lived 20 minutes from Graceland growing up, and was a block away from Graceland the day he died. My mom and I were shopping for my 11th B’day present and saw the ambulance rushing up to Graceland. Later that day, we heard the announcement on the car radio he had died, and my momma started crying. I knew one of the guys who worked in the medical examiners office that was tasked to determine cause of death. I also work with a guy who’s dad embalmed Elvis, died his hair back black, and got him ready to be placed in the casket. He said when he entered the room where Elvis was laid out on a metal table, there were six other tables with bodies in the same room. He said he didn’t recognize Elvis at first, because his hair was completely grey/white. We all wish Elvis was still alive, but sadly he left us back in August, 1977.

that's strange about his hair because larry gellar, E's hair stylist, said E's hair had only grown out some so he borrowed some lady's mascara and used it to color the part of E's hair that had grown out and wasn't black to make it match the rest of the black. So somebody is lying. Thing is E didn't die so the body that looked like E wasn't him, just a look-a-like. Larry knew this so he's the liar.

This is long too! Sorry and many typos due to being on my phone. I agree Absolutely!!!!!!!!!! Plus, he would not want to make money charging fans to see his house and “fake grave”. That would make him the ultimate con artist and you would think fans would find him dishonest if that were the case. It is amazing to me that people don’t make that connection. To fake your death and charge your fans to see your fake grave????? That just does not seem like him from what people have described him as. He was described as generous, caring and loved his fans so much and his daughter. It seemed he hated being away from her and wanted her to have a daddy that was around. This has all been expressed by family and friends. Why would he leave her if that were true? NOway. And, if he did fake his death and she knows, what kind of witness protection program is that under? Or better yet, what kind of loving dad would ask their child to lie to the public. What dad would stage a fake scene for a 9 yearold and tell her later. Or ask a 9 yearold to go along with a plot like that? I don’t even know where to begin with just that. That is sick and twisted. What fans are okay with that scenario?. Why would he ask her to lie to his fans and also take their money while pumping out new albums under the assumption he is dead. That is gross. I don’t think he could watch people each year come to a candlelit vigil at his home or sit in the side as his daughter is in pain. Is he in some secluded home eating popcorn just watching all of this? Oh and do we find out that he has to finally cook for himself and clean and do stuff he never had to do before fully? He had his mom and than staff. Every woman In his life had made it quite clear they babied him and took care of him. He can’t be outed so he is seclusion with nobody as we are told. How does he sleep alone if he literally couldn’t do it for years it seems. He struggled with that from what every single person had said. He didn’t seem to even carry cash on him or pay bills. Who is paying his bills? Who is cooking his food and helping him with normal life. When you read the books he seemed to struggle with tiny things that most people could do easily. I would think they would snap him out of any idea of faking his death real quick. The concept that he would have to be a normal average Joe in hiding with no help. He had around the clock maids, nurse, staff and people doing stuff for him and he just one day learned to do all of it for himself? No nurse, no maid, no live in girlfriend/mom to baby him?I am sure he could, but things like balancing money and being an everyday Joe takes time to learn when you have been pampered. Just a guess though. I would think if he faked his death, he would have brought his daughter along with him and possibly his ex so he can be near his daughter. Maybe a family accident or something and they all died ( to be together). That would be the only way I’d see him doing it and it still seems too far fetched. Again, His two loves were his daughter and fans. So that means he has destroyed both to fake a death. If he feared for his safety, he wouldn’t be a coward from what every friend, family member and employee has said about him. . He would have more security and amped up his MM and also wouldn’t want to leave his daughter exposed. Just doesn’t make sense. He would not have chosen to die off a toilet or during a time his daughter was down the hall. Nobody would chose to die falling off a toilet while taking a poop. Nobody! Especially a well known entertainer. Nobody thinks of that either. His dad was not that good of an actor to cry on command the day of the funeral. Do we finally find out after all these years, Vernon was an amazing actor along with all of the house staff and Memphis Mafia?????? Plus, there would be absolutely no open casket for all of the Memphis fans to walk up and see. Vernon may not have been a Rhodes scholar but he wasn’t stupid. There would be no open casket period if it was a faked death of any kind. No need for a wax dummy bc if it were faked, why even have an open casket. Nobody is that DUMB! Are we finding out that Elvis and his family were extremely stupid, thespians who were heartless and well crafted a major con job without thinking of the physiological implications it would have on his nine yearold daughter that day??? I’m going to say I I absolutely doubt it. But people want to really believe it and pass on any kind of logic and I say love to them. They need it I guess and I find it all so fascinating. There are so many theories floating around and each one is certain they are correct. Pastor Bob is my favorite one of them all. Wait no, the triplet one is great fun to follow. I think( I can only guess bc I didn’t know the man) if he heard that one he would be sad bc of the hurt his mom had to go through from losing a baby. Just my opinion bc I didn’t know him. I do know that my family knew him. I didn’t and some were at the funeral. My father worked at the hospital that day and shakes his head. Oh well. I guess it really is good fan fiction and shows how loved he was and is. I remember reading he said,” imitation is a form of flattery “when talking about impersonators. I guess making up 20 different types of stories or him being alive is another form of flattery too?!

I agree with you but that was not Elvis! He fed off the fans energy! He could not give that up for anything! Years of not taking care of himself caught up with him! I miss his music on the radio and just the sad knowledge of the way he suffered, but sometimes we just have to accept that someone we really cared for has died!😭

If he did just one appearance, and one appearance only in front of a live crowd and a movie telling them he came back for his fans, i would be happy...questions would be answered, and we all know the man is already very old..unless he's been doing some kind of stem cell stuff.. But i think its horrible to let fans linger all these years..and not enjoy a man's entertainment who is practically worshipped throughout the entire world..Elvis, if youre alive its time to say your real goodbyes.

Being that I was born one month and a day after Aug. 16, 1977 I never got to see Elvis "Aron" Presley in the flesh. I once showed two pictures side by side of him; one the infamous "casket" photo and one of him just before that year to my parents. I asked them both if they believed that it was him in that casket. They both answered in the negative, NO! That being said. My father once saw him, Elvis in concert at the PMAC on the campus of LSU. He would know how Elvis looked prior to 8/16/77.

Just love how people get soo upset when others say oh he's still alive along with Tupac and many other's. We don't know 100% if they are or aren't alive we can only go off of what the media says. Anyone and I mean anyone can stage their death and it look 100% real. Y'all weren't their so y'all don't know 100% they are even dead ;)

The issue with this is who would even believe it with all of the thousands of Elvis impersonators and why would he fake his death? It’s not like people were trying to kill him ..
