Elvis Bishop played the guitar solo, in the early 60's he came to Chicago to go to college and that's where he met Paul Butterfield and was a original member of the great Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

This is a song that is so good that I can remember the first time I heard it. I was in the car with my dad after visiting the zoo in 1976. This came on the radio and was announced as a brand new song. Loved it from first listen and it sounds even better to me now.

Catchy chorus as from the Sixties blended with the more complicated lyrics and music that began, for the most part, in the Seventies...the result. ...a truly memorable song!

This is the only hit Mickey Thomas had with Elvin Bishop, the guitarist for whom the band is named for. He joined Jefferson Starship and helped launch them into orbit. He shared the vocal duties with Grace Slick and scored many hits for the group. FIND YOUR WAY BACK, JANE, STRANGER, & SARA are just a few. I love your analogy of the dog getting his chain yanked. It's funny because it's true. You also like it because you want to be that girl. And that's alright. Enjoy

Great 😃 song! I honestly don't know if he had other hits, but this one is good 😊 enough for 10 🎯 hits!! Mickey Thomas eventually joined Jefferson ⭐✨ Starship, and then just Starship, as their lead singer! Jefferson ⭐ Starship's former lead singer, Marty Balin was also gifted with a great 😃 voice! Groovy tune!

I've gotta find more of Mickey Thomas..This can't be the only band he sang for before joining Starship .His voice was too dam good not to be in demand back then! Excellent gem of a pick!

What a great reaction. And yeah I think you nailed it. But the thing you should realize about Mickey Thomas is he was one of the greatest singers of that era he just didn't get super faint but he also did the iconic Jefferson Starship song, Jane. That would have occurred a few years after this performance with this band, The Elvin Bishop band and Elvin Bishop was the shaman and the lead guitar player. Mickey Thomas will blow you away with the song Jane. It's one of the most Stellar performances but the whole band is so good at that point and the arrangement is killer and all of that. It's got all the right Hooks and he just has the ability to sit on top of it and soar and bring it

At Jefferson Starship and Starship concerts, Mickey Thomas sings this song. Produced by Bill Szymczyk. In the same year, he produced One of These Nights album for The Eagles. The next year was bigger: BS produced the album Hotel 🏨 California. 🤯 Suggested video 📹: Jefferson Starship performs Winds of Change.
