We had the best music in the 70s
Mickey Thomas. Awesome voice 👌 👏
One of the best voices to that awesome blues vibe...just a great song
Elvis Bishop played the guitar solo, in the early 60's he came to Chicago to go to college and that's where he met Paul Butterfield and was a original member of the great Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

I didn't know that, that's awesome.
Mickey Thomas who sang for Jefferson Starship/Starship in the 80s - great songs like Jane, Sarah, Find Your Way Back, No Way Out, and, of course, We Built This City.

Sara - still a favorite song
His voice is still strong! He's a legend
One of my favorite 70’s songs!
Loved this since I was a kid!
Heck I must be getting old. We danced to this in high school
Great tune! That's some AM Gold!
Great song!! What an incredible voice!!
Such an awesome song, Mickey Thomas had one of the greatest voices ever!
Cool pic!!! Picks like this is why i keep coming back!! ❤🎶🔥

Gosh I listen to every song as much as possible... especially Karen Carpenter!
One of my favorite songs from back in the day..
Man, Mickey was a fantastic singer. Loved the song back then still love it can listen frequently. A song for me that's great start to finish. He ended up at Jefferson Starship yrs later. Again, one of the best singers ever.
" The hound dog got his chain yanked ". You're too funny.
This is a song that is so good that I can remember the first time I heard it. I was in the car with my dad after visiting the zoo in 1976. This came on the radio and was announced as a brand new song. Loved it from first listen and it sounds even better to me now.
Catchy chorus as from the Sixties blended with the more complicated lyrics and music that began, for the most part, in the Seventies...the result. ...a truly memorable song!
Thank you Angela, for your most entertaining reaction! Great song, great job on vocals by Mickey Thomas and amazing guitar solo by the one and only Elvin Bishop! Cheers,
Mickey also sang lead on “Jane” by Jefferson Starship. Awesome rocker that really shows off his vocals
Hear the total blues, soul and R&B influences....and Mickey and Elvin honored those pioneers!
This is the only hit Mickey Thomas had with Elvin Bishop, the guitarist for whom the band is named for. He joined Jefferson Starship and helped launch them into orbit. He shared the vocal duties with Grace Slick and scored many hits for the group. FIND YOUR WAY BACK, JANE, STRANGER, & SARA are just a few. I love your analogy of the dog getting his chain yanked. It's funny because it's true. You also like it because you want to be that girl. And that's alright. Enjoy
Great song, you wouldn't know from the clip that Mickey Thomas is the same guy from Starship.
It's a nice shuffle and fantastic song pulled off with, fantastic musicians.
This song is a masterpiece !!! just listen the solo guitar , epic !!!
14 year old Me MELTED to this guitar
One of my all time favorite tunes. Loved it since I was three years old. I’m 50 now LOL
Elvin Bishop on the great guitar solo. Yep, the predator becomes the prey! Thanks for your reaction.
The Midnight Special version of this song is the best!

Yes, I wish Angela had reacted to that live performance. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ao2Y1cOEeZvNeLA.html
Mickey Thomas went on to be the lead singer of Jefferson Starship, great voice.
One of my ALL-TIME favourites!!…….. No contest, this should be your song of the week. love your reaction to the song….it’s just the type of song that would invoke such a reaction. You look like a young Chaka Khan…..has anyone ever told you that??
High school memories!! Thank you
This song has one of the best, if not the best, old school tube amp sound guitar (hollow body Gibson) solos of all time. I will never tire of listening to this.
LOVE SONGS ALWAYS HIT A CORD , AN OLD GIRL FRIEND, A PLACE YOU MET A LOVER OR A BEST FRIEND MAYBE SOMEONE YOU LOST WOW
Very popular song that year for sure and Bishop great!
Your smile makes me smile woman. Your taste in music is excellent
Oh man, takes me back to being a 13 year old and for the first time (for being a teen) was allowed into the youth club disco. Played this as one of the songs for the last dance of the night (10p.m.)😂 and managed to steal a dance and kiss on the cheek. Thanks for choosing this Angela and for bringing back some great memories.❤
Starship drummer Donny Baldwin almost beat Mickey to death in Scranton. The doctors had to remove part of Mickey's skull and peel back his face to fix the bones.
The Guitar is SOOOOOOO SMOOOOOth
What a voice high as a mountain smooth flowing now see if you can play find your way back please from Jefferson star ship it also has a story this is music from my time I still love it sends shivers down my spine good old days❤😊
Hi Angela, This is an absolute classic masterpiece!!! Mickey Thomas has such an amazing soulful voice and the Elvin Bishop Group did their thing with the background vocals and their musicianship!!! You did a wonderful job with your reaction & analysis too!!! Keep up the good work...
Hey pretty lady! See your digging Elvin Bishop featuring Mickey Thomas(Starship) Classic 70s hit! CYa next time; ❤️👍👍
Love watching you react and I knew you would love this song !! When you look into the camera, we get an insight to your inner feelings. Love it !!
FIRE🔥🔥🔥.Glad u dug this great song Mickey Thomas is one of the greatest singers ever. He went to Jefferson Starship later, did a great job, no surprise. Worth checking out his songs there and hes currently performing.
Great 😃 song! I honestly don't know if he had other hits, but this one is good 😊 enough for 10 🎯 hits!! Mickey Thomas eventually joined Jefferson ⭐✨ Starship, and then just Starship, as their lead singer! Jefferson ⭐ Starship's former lead singer, Marty Balin was also gifted with a great 😃 voice! Groovy tune!
Hi Ms. D., I have always liked this song, the vocals and the fact that something snuck up on Mr. Elvin.. And the guitar was just enough.. Great.. Not trying to influence U, but this is probably the song of the week.. ♠W.G.
Angela loves your reaction to Elvin Bishop😊
1976 my high school years 😅
One more thing! Your closing in on 50,000 subs, and that's a 😃👍 great accomplishment! 🎉 👏 Congratulations, and I hope your channel is around until the very end! We 🥫 can all go out with a 🔥 FIRE 😂 musical 😸 celebration, and 🤗 welcome in the next phase of existence! 😊 😁 Happy times ahead!
I was 11 when that came out.
Whoa, they're all amped up with everything plugged in, so It looks like a great live performance to me.Weird place to make a video, the local park? 5:53..It happened to me..I was single until I was 44 and got "chained " by a redhead vixen who drove me wild!. I've gotta find more of Mickey Thomas..This can't be the only band he sang for before joining Starship .His voice was too dam good not to be in demand back then! Excellent gem of a pick!
What a great reaction. And yeah I think you nailed it. But the thing you should realize about Mickey Thomas is he was one of the greatest singers of that era he just didn't get super faint but he also did the iconic Jefferson Starship song, Jane. That would have occurred a few years after this performance with this band, The Elvin Bishop band and Elvin Bishop was the shaman and the lead guitar player. Mickey Thomas will blow you away with the song Jane. It's one of the most Stellar performances but the whole band is so good at that point and the arrangement is killer and all of that. It's got all the right Hooks and he just has the ability to sit on top of it and soar and bring it
Sorry to gush... but, you are so very beautiful when you sing along- particularly to this song! 💙
a time the real men have their spirits free to float to produce greatest things that contribute to life that only now ppl waking up,recognize ,want them more but cant get 1 more drop of it.
1976 was a great year...

Hadn't heard this one-Great vibes from this one, really good melody and vocals and love that guitar solo, would add to my collection-Colin Ward
Great song! Great voice! Thanks for sharing!
You like Mickey Thomas, so the next step is Jefferson Starship, who he was the lead singer for. "Find Your Way Back", and "Jane" I think are there two best.

I love when you get into the music request Angela! Enjoy the music!
I've loved this song since I was a kid. First heard it after night skiing at lake Tahoe. We were sitting out on the deck of the lodge and it came on over the sound system. They would mix in a classic rock song now and then. Great memory.

You will like the live version from the Midnight Special, just as good or better than the album version.😊
Absolutely love your reviews.😊
When I was 17 ALL the Girls melted to this Song
Written by Elvin Bishop. He is on lead guitar 🎸. Leader of his band. Luke Neal Schon with Journey. Both bands are from my hometown San Francisco 🌉. At Jefferson Starship and Starship concerts, Mickey Thomas sings this song. Produced by Bill Szymczyk. In the same year, he produced One of These Nights album for The Eagles. The next year was bigger: BS produced the album Hotel 🏨 California. 🤯 Suggested video 📹: Jefferson Starship performs Winds of Change.
Mickey Thomas - The king of underrated singers! 😠😠😠😠
