Marion Day has written lots of kids books - adventure stories, funny stories and lots of stories about the great outdoors and hunting and fishing and going wild!
Her partner has flown crane's like Elton all around the world so Marion couldn't resist creating a character to share some of the excitement rescue aircraft enjoy when out working hard.
Elton the Flying Crane has four stories in it and today we read story number three - Elton and the Whales. The illustrations for all four stories are by Richard Hoit.
