This song takes me back when I was five years old. It was a cloudy day when I listened to the song at home. I wondered what would happened in the future or it was the sign for my marriage in the future. At the time I divorced, with my new born baby on my arms, looking at my 2 years old sleeping on the bed, suddenly I played this song and cannot stop myself from crying. Until that day, I understood the meaning of “Sacrifice”. Still a touchable song.

Born in 80. Uncle took me n my brother on a road trip from florida to ohio in an iroc z28 during his midlife crisis. It was just the boys on the road, wild and free with elton john and the Outfield playing over the landscape and miles. My brother and i were so young we had no idea our beloved uncle was hurting inside. He was always so ready with a smile and a joke. What a great man to providee such an experience while he suffered in secret. I'm indebted to him and i hope that i can show the same love and resolve. What a great song.

Life can have strange twists, Elton's music was a big part of my life in the '70s and '80s and now somehow, while I haven't yet met him and I am not involved in the industry, he is a friend of a friend and our paths could easily cross at some point.
