🎤 Lyrics: Elton John - Rocket Man
She packed my bags last night pre-flight
Zero hour nine AM
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
'Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
'Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all this science I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
'Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
'Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time

My husband was a high school science teacher. Has an amateur rocket club for students. He took them to competitions in Washington DC. They did pretty good. But the most important things that came out of the experience he taught them to dream. We were married 43 years and Rocketman went to heaven❤️

Life is now much better, but I always have the desire of finish takin methadone, 'cause it causes a very strong addiction in me... For the while..No need to say that i'm happy for you bro!! Beautiful song, great lyrics. I bought his greatest hiits album in Canada 1975 and it had a great impact on me in my early teens. ❤
my nana used to play this song for me all the time. it's always been my favorite song. i wish we got to hang out more these days, I love this song so dearly because of her. i think I'm gonna make more of an effort to spend time with the people I love, and to those who see this, I encourage you to do the same, and find more people to love. i love you all, and I care about you.
I really hope your new version of this is bringing views to this iconic, classic moment. ❤ I wave my lighter to this song

Love this song since day ❤
I love this song keep it up!
Song is still fresh after all this time.
To me this song is about: ambition which is the sky, my determination is the rocket, Mars is the new environment I find myself in & I'm the rocket man. Sometimes being ambitious has its price & you'll have to burn your fuse up here alone. I miss the earth (being with my family & friends). This song also began with "last night she packed my bags pre-flight"...reminds me of my mother who packed my bags before I left home. I just want to wish everyone success in all your endeavours & make your loved ones proud.

@@magic_no1 Absolutely right. As I always say nowadays you have to be a computer technician rather than a musician. Bad music is perhaps too strong but the "old" music had much more heart and soul. It’s funny how music can take you back to a specific moment in time.. This. Remind of my dad getting me up at 6am to bring the car back home so my sister can take my mom to work and everybody else to school. I was just learning to drive and Elton John’s Rocket Man and a song called The Guitar Man by Bread would play every morning….at the same time! Lol! But it was all good! Most stations were AM back then. But still, those were great times! And that music 🎶 is still great now!
