How very true, I too think of the same thing. Life is fleeting and when we are young we experience the death of loved ones and friends and as we progress in age, we begin to think of our own mortality. An old Chinese proverb says, "A long life and a short life are one and the same. They each are just moments in time".

CA Babyboomer I think we all feel this as we age... we reach this place and look back. Where we once looked ahead and thought we had so much time now we look back and see the time behind us. It's a paradox and it's very difficult to take in. 😢

I don't think this younger generation will have the same attachment to their music artists in the same way our generation has with ours, because the talent level was so much higher back in the day then it is now. Todays "music" is throwaway stuff designed to make a quick buck with no artistic value at all. I mean does any one really believe people like Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry or any of these rappers will have the same staying power as a guy like Elton John? The first time I heard EJ I was around 12 yrs old and I am getting ready to turn 61 and he's still selling out places and still has an audience. So, it's very sad to me and our generation to see these people start passing away.

The first album my parents ever bought me was for Christmas when I was just 11 years old. And it was Yellow Brick Road. I fell in love with Elton's music and was infatuated with Nigel Olssen. I knew I wanted to be a drummer back then and I have never changed. God Bless Elton for keeping him, Ray, Davey all together all these years. Their music will live for as long as man kind!

I saw The Who at Fenway Park in Boston on Sept 13, 2019 on the day Eddie Money passed away. I was at a Meet and Greet after the soundcheck in the afternoon where a DJ played all Who songs as people got excited to see the real show that night. But it was cool the DJ played "I Want To Go Back" from Eddie Money as a tribute at that all-Who show. On a different note, thank God Ric Ocasek was still here when The Cars got introduced into the R&R Hall of Fame. Sadly, the classic rockers are going to start passing away more frequently.

Elton is a GREAT person, musician/piano player. An extremely generous person. We are all so lucky to have him. Now its his turn to relax with his family. Well deserved. I remember well when the Caribou album came out. Not to many musicians have had a roll of hits in the seventies like he did. Thank you Elton and band for all of your music etc.👍😂💓

God Bless Elton John. My mom and dad told me that he was the person who wrote “Can’t you Feel the Love Tonight” when we saw the Lion King when I was a kid and they loved him. My dad used to sing Eddie Money songs when he would hold my sister and I in his arms and later when I started playing guitar, my dad and I would bond over our love of the Cars and Ric Ocasek’s songwriting. This last week gutted me. I am so thankful Elton is still here after everything and he is unapologetically himself.
