Yeah i think about all the drummers doing covers with multicam, hundred takes, quantized to the grid as hell and sample replaced all around...And at the end it doesn't sound that good ... Eloy just beat them all, raw energy, raw sound, pure power.

hitting drums has not much to do with being strong, you probably don't even lift. while you need a certain force to get the max out of the shell, that force is not even comparable to the force a strenght training exercise requires. on top of that, stamina is way more important for this type of playing. that being said, he really gets the max sound out of his drums and it's beautiful how consistent it is.

Eu tava prestando atenção em como a caixa se mantém constante sendo que a mão esquerda dele tá tocando os pratos. Daí eu percebi que o cara é um NINJA DO CARALHO e me toca com a mão direita num movimento que é quase imperceptível. Monstro demais Eloyzão. Só coisa boa pra ti, irmão.

Vale ressaltar outra coisa: Lars não sabia tocar. Ele aprendeu no estúdio mesmo. Lars ajudou a criar hinos do Heavy Metal, numa era sem internet, sem estudo... O próprio James, era pra ser apenas vocalista, porque era um ''0 à esquerda'' na guitarra. Respeito demais a história do Metallica.

I don't know why so many people hate on triggers. Its NOT like a vocalist who uses pitch correction or or auto tune. Triggers just accentuate and make the drums more distinctive. They DON'T make a drummer any better than he really is. And depending on the drummer and the style of music he/ she is playing, a lot of what he/she may do isn't heard as well and therefore unappreciated. I appreciate anyone's choice as to which they prefer, i just don't understand it when people make hater comments simply because of a preference of triggers

To see someone genuinely enjoying what he does, it's pure magic.

​@@vovahimself - It's not cheating. It doesn't produce the hits for you, it does correct mistakes, or make anything sound perfect except for the sound/volume. When drummers play fast double bass (much faster than in this video) it's not as loud. It it starts sounding "muddy" as well because bass drums have a low frequency. Triggers even everything out. If some of your hits are a little louder/softer than the rest it keeps them at the same volume. Triggered kick drums also sound better at metal concerts. You get way more of a punchy sound. With triggers, you have to play very precise. Triggers will amplify your mistakes and make them very noticeable. Mic'd kick drums will hide/blend mistakes a good amount of the time because it's not as clear of a frequency. I prefer triggered kick drums way more than mic'd kicks in deathmetal, blackmetal, pretty much all extreme metal sub-genres. I'm not a fan of them in other genres though.

I'm a huuuge old school Metallica fan and i can say that this is a fantastic cover ! Eloy you gave all the Sepultura drum to the song. Battery just can't have more drum, it's just kicking ass... and the finish ..Damn. Eloy you are something else man .... Bow down to your skills !!! Rock On !

Practice. it's that simple. :) You realize that when you're recording and whenever you're playing parts that need more focus than others, you usually (involuntarily!) lose audible power and loudness. The more you practice and the more muscle memory you're building, the less you'll experience that unwanted variation.

🤯 from 2:56 to 3:03 and again from 3:54 til the end are bananas. Being able to stay so precise and powerful at that speed while still having such feeling and groove is insane. His work on that ride bell during those sections are absolutely mind blowing. Every little detail and every accent and fill are mind blowing actually.

Vejo um monte de nego olhando a performance do eloy e criticando o lars, gente vamo acorda né, o lars ta cagando pra critica já abriu mão de tocar decentemente faz décadas o cara ta com o cu cheio de dinheiro tem um patrimônio gigantesco, foi o fundador de uma das maiores bandas de heavy metal da historia, teve sua contribuição para o gênero e tem q ser respeitado. E outra, quando tinha a msm idade do eloy já tinha criado as linhas da bateria dos 3 primeiros disco da banda que hj são considerados obras primas por todos, então vamo para de fala merda do cara e respeita a contribuição q o cara deu para o gênero.

Isso é acima de tudo uma homenagem ao Lars que criou verdadeiras obras de arte que estão eternizadas. Não sei porque uns ficam malhando ele por não descer a mão como antes mas ele já fez sua parte e tá ai pra todos curtirem. O tempo passa pessoal, mas a obra fica.

É que o Lars é muito ruim e preguiçoso. Pior: ele parece até se orgulhar de ser ruim e não saber nada sobre música, metal ou bateria. O cara nunca pratica e não sabe nem o que é um blast beat, por exemplo! E o lance da idade estar pesando é papo furado, vide Dave Lombardo e Nicko McBrain. O Lars é ruim pra caramba porque não pratica.

@@Rafaeltiecher Cara... Eu vi uma entrevista onde um sujeito perguntou ao Lars se haveria blast beats no Death Magnetic e o Lars pergunta, confuso: "o que você quer dizer com blast beats?! Batidas rápidas?!" Aí o cara responde que sim e Lars responde que tem um monte. Agora vai lá procurar blast beats no Death Magnetic! 🤷‍♂️ Quanto a não praticar, ele mesmo admite que não pratica! 🤷‍♂️ Quanto ao Lombardo e ao McBrain, você pode procurar no KZread. E tô cagando pros tais grandes bateristas ou metaleiros sobre quem você fala. 🤷‍♂️

@@MusiCaninesTheMusicalDogs ele não precisa tocar como lombardo, Portnoy, Casagrande, priester e o escambal pra ser um cara importante pro metal. Eu não disse que ele prática. Eu sei que ele não se dedica ao instrumento mais. Foda-se o blast beat. O Metallica é uma das maiores bandas de metal da história e essa é a contribuição dele para a música. As músicas mais icônicas do rock não são tocadas com blast shit, com paradiddles, com quintinas ou o cacete, são simples. Me enoja essa gente que acha que só presta aquilo que é tocado com técnicas absurdas, com nível de dificuldade absurdo etc. Prefiro ouvir enter Sandman do que as chatices do dream theater.

@@Rafaeltiecher Eu não entrei no mérito se blast beats são musicalmente bons ou ruins, só estava provando meu ponto de que o Lars não sabe praticamente nada sobre sua própria profissão, lembrando que meu post foi inicialmente uma reação à mentira de que o Lars é ruim por causa da idade. Eu vi que você é baterista. Eu comecei a tocar bateria há 25 anos e uma das coisas que mais me prejudicou enquanto baterista foi ter sido tão influenciado pelo Lars. Depois que eu descobri algumas dezenas de boas bandas underground, minha cabeça pirou e eu pensei comigo mesmo: "Caralho... Eu tava perdendo tudo isso?!" Dica: explore o resto do mundo pra não correr o risco de perder coisas fabulosas. 😉

Cara, não é possível manter um nível de intensidade, precisão e velocidade por tanto tempo assim. IMPRESSIONANTE e eu diria até que desafiador aos próprios olhos.

Simplesmente FANTÁSTICO!!! Eloy é aquele baterista para o qual a bateria é efetivamente um INSTRUMENTO, e não um acompanhamento. Insano Eloy! Nunca mais ouvirei Battery do mesmo jeito.
