You hike into the mountains with your bestie, both of you brimming with beauty, elegance, and charm… and you hike out with your husband. It must be true that everything we need can be found within ourselves. Immy, I know this took years of paperwork and emails, dreaming and planning, tears and heartache… but dang it all, if you two didn’t pull off a wedding day when everything came together amongst the Autumn hues and the snow-dusted peaks… just as you’d always hoped it would. It’s so incredible to see the trust and togetherness of two deserving people celebrated amidst the magic and the mystery of the mountains. What one imagines can become one’s reality!! Thank-you for exemplifying the power of love and the human spirit. I love it!! 💦🌎Ⓜary💕 PS - sorry to have missed the Premiere… I’m teaching today, but I was able to catch a quick glimpse and type in a comment in between sewing classes this morning. A lovely commitment between the two of you sounds like the perfect way to begin your married - or just handfasted - life together. We did a happy-medium of a traditional wedding and a more elopement style. We had 30 guests and had a daytime ceremony and big dinner at a local pub which is licensed for weddings. We had a local registrar and I’m so pleased we got married close to our home then we can wander back through the parklands next to the pub, go back for food etc when we like; rather than it having been at a big country hotel or something.

A fun little story about wedding bow ties that I’d like to share with you. Before my Mom passed away a few years ago my parents celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with a small ceremony… and of course, cake! My Dad wore the red bow tie from his wedding suit which he has worn to many special occasions throughout their 60 years of marriage. (My Dad still fits into his wedding suit but a few moths have chewed on the pants and the zipper is a bit rusty.) That red bow tie is sooo special, and to me it is a small symbol of 60 years of love and commitment. I think when my Dad wears that dapper red bow tie he is filled with memories and he gets a little bit emotional when he thinks about all that has happened in his life since that special day when he first wore it. I am sharing this story with you Immy and partner because I hope your special bow tie, green with beautiful pheasants, will be a part of many years of memories and wonderful emotions. I hope you may one day celebrate 60 years of love and commitment. I know you are minimalists but I’d like to humbly suggest… always keep the bow tie. Thanks for reading this. Just a thought, have you ever heard of Plantiful Kiki? She lives in Colorado and is vegan. She may be able to give you tips on the garden etc. She has a KZread channel.

Congratulations!! We also self solemnized near Fairplay, Colorado three weeks ago!! It was the best decision for us and so, so special. We used a GoPro instead of a photographer and the pics actually came out really well! My favorite part was hiking in our outfits and being alone on the trail. Cheers to us! 💞🙏🏻

Yes, that's how we got married in Colorado too. I think Colorado is one of only two states where you can do that! We chose a location in Rocky Mountain National Park for our very personal ceremony. No wedding dress or tux though.

Love how you got married ❤. Congratulations to you both 💕💕. Myself and my hubby also got married low key just for ourselves. We didn't tell anyone we were going to do it (only witnesses as it was uk). The only new things we had were our rings and we obviously still have them😃, it was a wonderful stress free experience just for us, then we let everyone know when we got home that we would be down the pub in the evening if people would like to celebrate with us which many did and the landlord even layed on a small buffet😊. Simple is always best. Enjoy married life together ❤

Colorado and Pennsylvania are the only two states in the US that allow self-uniting (self-solemnizing) wedding licenses. In PA it is a Quaker heritage thing, not sure why CO does it as well. My wedding was self-uniting in PA and we loved it, it felt affirming to say that we were choosing to get married, not being joined by some higher power or the state. Just our take on it, congrats on your marriage!

Congrarulations 😍🥰 Im a bit late in seeing this but I actually also got married last year, same year that is just a bit earlier, in mid august. It was on our little farmstead, a country wedding with the ceremony in our garden and the reception in our big old barn ☺️ It was a true cottage core country side dream 😅🥰 I love that we did it here, and with all our families, especially since we are soon about to move from here (northern Scandinavia) to southernmost Europe. So happy to have that wedding as a memory of this beautiful place but heading for new adventures in the south. So making a similar move as you did very soon 😅 I hope you are very happy and wish you the very best on all uour adventures together in the future 😍🥰❤️🥂
