I started a company. I worked 80-106 hours a week. There were times I couldn’t think straight. Failure isn’t an option. Everyone thought I was insane. Now, I am successful. You would be amazed how resilient your body and mind are past 80 hours a week. Now I completely understand boot camp in the military. Your body and mind are capable of so much more if you push yourself beyond every limit.

After my talk to the Young Farmer’s Club last week I was asked who in the world, living or dead, I would like to have dinner with. I said Elon Musk, because courage and purpose gets him out of bed every morning. He also has empathy for his critics. Very relatable for anyone running a business that takes a new path. A good person.

It’s touching to see Elon so emotional. I knew about his extreme dedication but not quite how difficult it actually was. We have to be behind those who push the envelope. They are a kind of American hero helping us get to the solutions to faster while they put it all on the line and when they weren’t sure of their own success. Bravo Elon!

Truly Amazing human. In Elon Musk we trust. Need more people and leaders like him.

He's autistic just like me. We grow up with brains that live in another world. We create things in our brains and make them tangible. We think about things differently we see things differently we have extraordinary brains which can easily be in the flow without effort, creatively creating the world in our brains just happens to us.

I have always felt this way. I started listening to Musk back in the day. I never slept. My mind never shuts off. I invent ideas all day. My body cannot keep up with my mind. It’s very stressful to understand and see things most people don’t. It’s like I am always buzzing on a different wavelength. Sometimes I meet people like myself and we can talk about science, philanthropy, technology, and think tank how to genuinely make the world a better place. It is interwoven in a person. If I am not on track to do this with tenacity- I feel lost. I know almost nothing and can’t stop taking in interest and inspiration from others who have the courage to stand in the light and show us the way. The current failure rate of humanity makes me cry 😢 “It’s not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me”

I have so much respect for Elon. He was not handed his wealth, he EARNED it. This shows us that such success, no matter how you define success is within reach of us all. Yet he is amazingly modest. He truthfully talks about the tough times he has faced. He risked it all and he succeeded. This is inspiration for us all, no matter what goal we are chasing.

For what? He didn't invent the solar panels or the electric car, he rode taxpayers money to succeed with Tesla and they're still 2nd to last in reliability, he didn't really make it better. I liked when he mentioned that he treats his company almost like it is his child. I find that statement incredible. being rich doesn't make people extraordinary. By that account, your postman who work 18 hours a day & delivers your post on time every single time with no thanks from you, working on minimum wage, barely able to support a family or own his own home, is not an "extraordanary guy".

I've spent the last 20 years building my business as an inventor, and it’s interesting to have ppl say to me that they wish they were that lucky.

I never judged, liked or not liked Elon, but after seeing this, I have a great new admiration & respect for Elon. He didn't set out to become rich, he just followed his passion & dreams, and when one does that, often the financial blessing come after. A quote from Wayne Dyer of another great person he admired that wrote... "When one advances confidently in the direction of their dreams, to live the life that he has imagine, he will be met with a success unknown in common hours"

When I think of what it takes to be a visionary, Elon Musk is the forefront of that perception and definition. What an extraordinary individual.

He is an amazing person. He works so hard and deserves the success he has achieved. I hope he has a plan to step back at some point and relax and enjoy life.

after watching this, what i learn from his speech is to have a strong mind if you want to take your chance to be as successful as him. the strong mind to believe enough for you to take actions and the strong mind to endure the pressure of failure constantly. i believe not many people could handle this or even if they do, they can't constantly be consistent in doing it for a long time just like high concentration. this is the difference between successful business man and ordinary employees. many people know about high risks high return but only a few could actually practice it. i think if people didn't watch his sharing, they will only be able to see his glorious side on how successful he is and never know what he has been through to attain his success. i certainly know my place and not dare to say i learn much from him even he reveals all his secrets because if what he did is so easily imitated, there would be plenty of elon musk in this planet. i personally respect him.

I agree and would also add that it is very profound to see the truth and transparency in Elon being emotional. He is relatable to “common folk” when he shows vulnerability. We can see glimpses of ourselves in him. He dresses normal without being covered in diamonds and gold chains or flaunting designer clothes and accessories! He is a Billionaire striving for the betterment and preservation of humanity, not something Billionaires typically do. Most rich people just want more $ and increasing power.
