Elon Musk's biographer explains the book's complicated motivations

Bestselling biographer Walter Isaacson joined the L.A. Times Book Club Oct. 1 to discuss the two years he spent shadowing one of his most innovative, unpredictable subjects yet to write "Elon Musk."
In a wide-ranging conversation with Times columnist Anita Chabria, Isaacson talked about the influence of Musk's abusive father, the billionaire's pivotal tech role in the Ukraine war, why he bought Twitter and how Musk's estrangement from his trans daughter helps explain his current politics.
The former editor of Time magazine, Isaacson has profiled some of history’s greatest game changers, including Steve Jobs, Leonardo da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and biochemist Jennifer Doudna.

A little self-reflection on the corrupting proximity of power and wealth would not have gone amiss.

I think this was recorded the same day as Elizabeth Lopatto’s article in the Verge “How the Elon Musk biography exposes Walter Isaacson” calls out the vague research practices / sources used for the book - namely the narrow intel concerning the partial turning off Ukraine’s comms; he rather justifies here that his info was coming, possibly exclusively, from Musk.

And they're all pretending he and the book are still legitimate.

LOL. Isaacson is now revealed as a sycophantic joke, same as Michael Lewis with his Sam Bankman-Freed book. All these "pretend the book is still legitimate for ad dollars" promotions are embarrassing for every media company still supporting both Issacson + Lewis.
