That's not necessarily nervousness but at least not entirely. Asperger's don't naturally understand underline meanings and body language like neurotypical people. So their body language don't naturally follows their emotions or thoughts. So when they try to act like neurotypical people, it's all done ''manually'', thoughtfully or consciously through mimicry and habits. That's why they tend to seem awkward. I didn't know he was an Aspy but after watching some videos I could tell he was, so I googled to find confirmation which led me here. Nervous or not his body language is like this.

I think he did a good job. I actually chuckled at a few of his jokes. And to think he actually made light of his Asperger’s condition in the routine. Very brave….. Good for him!

I’ve watched him do many interviews, and have a close friend with Aspergers. That monologue may have been the hardest thing he’s ever done in his life. Kudos to him for doing a great job!

I assume because they both aren't actors- especially his mother if she didn't do much public speaking. Being live on TV makes even professionals nervous, sometimes. No two people on the spectrum are alike, that's for sure. There are many of us who are entertainers (or politicians) and live and breathe this stuff. You naturally are an actor if you're on the spectrum, but the higher-functioning you are the better of an actor you are.

It did? For me being wildly ambitious (not a flaw at all) doesn't excuse moral and human failings. And I don't consider smoking weed with Joe Rogan a moral failing, but his behaviour during the attempts to rescue the kids trapped in a cave in Thailand was. It didn't seem like he wanted the kids to be safe, it seemed like he wanted himself and Tesla's submarine to be hailed as the hero. The way he went against the diver who did save them, the slander and pernicious comments- Idk, is that made up by the fact he is wildly ambitious? I'd always liked him before that. When that happened he seemed like a man with a very big and brittle ego. He didn't seem aware of the fact he was damaging a human being that had done something that was really worthwhile. It seemed like all that was going on in his mind was that Tesla and himself had been outshone by a diver and he just wouldn't take it. I don't really know him and what he does (which he does for a profit, let's not forget) isn't really impacted by it. But it's a pretty sh*tty reaction, not really a "whoopsie".

I like how Elon's essentially undergoing treatment by forcing social skills training on himself every time he steps on a stage
