But also as important was the fact Stalin just added around 10 independent countries to the UN charter that will vote on international matters & disputes however USSR demanded. And he did it w/o having to give a penny in aid as a bribe (like USA does for friendly UN votes).

And after he collapsed the pound, he said he'd do it to the US before he died.
