Two uploads in less than a week? I know right, wtf lmao. I hope that even if you haven't watched the series, you'll enjoy this video anyway! I tried to capture a glimpse of their story in the space of one song.
I loved, LOVED season two SO much more than the first season, and I'd always planned to edit Anthony and Kate to this song (enemies to lovers excellenceee). HOWEVER, when I was rewatching the series on my holiday, I remembered how obsessed I was with the side-plot involving Eloise and Theo.
I think for me, it's clear that Eloise has always been trapped in a gilded cage, longing for something more from her life. She's one of my favourite characters because she's not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Theo is someone who sees her for who she is, is able to see past her standing in society and values her opinions. I loved their witty back and forth, and I'm really, REALLY hoping that we see more of it in the third season.
I was honestly kind of surprised to find that there isn't more fanfiction etc. about them, considering that the series came out earlier this year! It has so many interesting elements, forbidden romance, misunderstandings, a sweet and tender friendship that evolves into something more even though they know that to be together, Eloise would have to throw away the life she was born into. Theo doesn't want her to go! He cares about her! He isn't angry at Eloise, but the circumstances that make it impossible for them to be together, and Eloise is still too scared to take that next step with him. I like to think that they would have continued to write to each other in secret, using their book exchanges. Even her footman is on board! It's too good to let go! Come ON, Shonda!!
