"On The Third Day" is, in my mind, one of the GREATEST breakout albums of all time. I listen to it religiously to this day, and I am 63 years old. The SEVENTIES! The weekend that lasted a decade. Wish I had taken more notes because I sure let the memory go to hell. If you were there, you know what I mean.

I feel as though ELO got slicker, glossier, and more over-produced with each passing album... and _On the Third Day_ was pretty much their last album on which they still maintained some of that early 'rough' sound which Roy had imbued into them.

This was a peak for ELO. This is one of the greatest live performances of anything I've ever heard. Also, this suite of songs or sections is one of the most stupendous creations in music, including the work of the great classical composers. This work could hardly be stronger, from the sweet lilting sections to the fiery dramatic parts. Mr. Lynne & Co. outdid themselves on this work. I only wish Lynne had included his beautiful wordless singing in the sweet, soft section.

They were excelent and the best band for me. Due their eclectic and hability to make excelent songs in various genres. They all always were open-minded with music and never were fanatic extremist of any genre.
It strongly smells as jazz-similar composition , but even despite of that I can hear this song to its end . Jazz is most unliked kind of music for me , but Jeff Lynne is most liked music genius Electric Light Orchestra - forever !
Sounds fantastic
Great performance !
Jeff Lynne came directly from the barber.
Fab!

Isn't that the title of the song made by George Harrison?
Kudos to the person who had the foresight to videdotape this! Love early period ELO.
Wow! A great version of one of my favorites! Thanks for posting.
Excellent. What a fantastic post.
Amazing!!! What a great line up this was!
Wow great to hear such a great recording of this music from when it was new. A faithful performance but with enjoyable Live subtleties. One of my favorite records by anybody. Hope there is more of this gig out there
Capes were big that year (1973). Rick Wakeman of Yes wore a sparkly silver one. I would like to see capes come back!
what an awesome vid, thanks. another top song from a top album,

It's all making me ready It's all doing what you gotta do ... I know A...I see my life come shine
One of the better sound clips of the band, I think mainly because the cellists aren't running around pretending to be Chuck Berry or whatever.
Wow!
Wow. Greatness.
This is evidence that ELO was a band that sounded amazing live. Yes, their sound was fully realized in the studio, but for a band to reproduce the magic on stage speaks volumes about the song craft and musicianship.

live elo was better than recorded elo ..in my opinion..live was edgy little more dirty but still great vocals & harmonies ..2 singers ..kelly & jeff doing a ton of work...
