Hi. I enjoyed your video because I was in the transfer business myself in the 1980’s. I also had an Elmo 16mm telecine projector. It had a 5 bladed shutter which enabled a flicker free transfer from 16mm sound film at 24fps. It had to run through a telecine system though straight into a VHS or 3/4” VTR. Your ability to run straight into a computer is much more advantageous. I was also limited to standard resolution, no HD in those days.

I can vouch for those folks. Great communication and excellent service. They did a bang up job on some 16 mm color and B&W family movies from 1937 and 1939.

I had one of those ELMO Transvideo 16's dialed in well. I sold it off, and later I totally regretted doing so ! BIG mistake ! These units are critically rare and are going for crazy ass prices ! 🥺

Mark, yes they are indeed! The transfer industry has turned into an equipment hoarding business lol!

Actually I believe the Singer Graflex was the first with the Easy-Load slot loading. The machines still have the pull down claw, and a sprocket style transport of sorts. It is however not anywhere as hard on 16mm film as a Bell & Howell Filmosound projector. It seems strange that the machine has an S-Video output but only a Monaural audio output, as there was some 16mm with dual audio tracks.

I am looking for the LED replacement light source for my dual 8 projector. The guy that used to make the kits no longer makes them. Anyone know who would do it?

Sorry can’t help there. Each is specific.

Am I right in assuming that this machine does not capture frame by frame?

Every frame I can pull up on this and get a clear image. It’s not a seven figure rank cintel but it does a great job.

What is the digital resolution that these units make? 640x480 or can it do higher?

@@gotmemories Is there any way to modify these machines, i.e replace the camera?

@@lewschoen - His has the upgrade on it. The TRV-16 didn't come with S-Video. I think his was modified by Urbanski. The TRV-16H came with S-Video from the factory.

I have this same project which I bought about four years ago. I myself made an update to the camera to have a better resolution since the original is not very good, now I have at least 720p.

They haven’t been sold retail wise since the early to mid 90’s. You can look online for used ones but a lot of the time they don’t work.
