I remember him playing at Under Acme in NY...the audience, like most in NY, too cool to listen. Cell phones beeping everywhere. People laughing and yelling at each other in lieu of conversation. Suddenly, he stops in the middle of the third song, and says, "Anyone who cares, I'll play for you out back." And he did, all four of us. Our own private concert. One of the greatest nights in my life. RIP Elliott. I miss you a lot.

He dose it so effortlessly, plus it's live... he was god on earth.
well i will let you have your opinion.. but he's brilliant to me. honestly my favorite lyricist. maybe that makes me depressed, full of angst, or juvenile.. but he sings some things i can identify with more than anyone else i hear.
Yes. I do listen to his music and there is no doubt that he was morbidly depressed but that does not change the fact that there are unanswered questions and a possibility that he was murdered.
How is it that someone could have a dislike to this song?
I mean, wow. 🙏

@hestormofet would certainly not say that he came up with this sort of guitar playing...but he was very good at it!

^i just listened to it, its actually very solid & very Elliot Smith esque
Very tricky guitar work in this song. As well as being a fantastic songwriter people tend to forget he was an unbelievable guitarist too.
all great music came from the UK and Seattle US..
@moree21 He said ' Its not bad, its kind of formal.' I think he meant that the place wasnt sold out, so he made a joke about it
