It's midnight. I'm not asleep. I wide awake. My headphones sing this song in full volume as I close my eyes. Memories flash by as I lay down on my bed. This tune stirring different emotions in my heart. For tonight is the night. I am going to stay awake all throughout the darkness with the loving moon for company. My mind goes back to the time when I found myself in the arms of mother nature. The himalayas glowed with pride and the yaks chewed the never-ending grass away. Oh! The sound of the bells attached to their necks so far away made my heart dance with pleasure. It was what I had been seeking for so long. At that time, my mind was racing over what I'd done over this year. Let's see...I faked anxiety...but why? That's right! Everyone in school was going throught depression and anxiety and I was the only one who wasn't. So just to get attention, I did so. But then what was in it for me? Nothing. My world was shattered when my mom whistled out to me from the little cottage. I had come too far out into the forest and now I have to get back. "So much for alone time" I thought. Back in front of our little cottage, the five of us ( four friends and a 22 year old brother) sat in front of the setting sun. Somehow that time i was jealous of my friend. He got to spend time with his brother. Got so much support from him. Emotional talks, random stuff...anything. I never knew what. I wish I had someone like that in my life. My friend and the guy just dissappeared for quite some hours once every few days. My heart longs for it. As the song abruptly stops, so does my chain of thoughts. I try calling the same friend but the line appears to be busy. Huh, that's strange. He always switches off his phone when he's asleep so it should've been "the person you're trying to call currently has their phone switched off" or something like that. But instead it said " the person you are trying to call is currently on another call..." Is he talking to his brother? My mind wanders around such questions when suddenly I'm woken from my reverie by the sound of a toilet flush. It's my father. I scurry over to my bed as the sky now turns to purple instead to the dark midnight blue which some so love. I guess I 'll be waking up late again tomorrow too...
