Thank you so much. I now have a better understanding of the MEANING OF TESTIMONY OF JESUS. Thd ministry of the Holy Spirit is absolutely amazing. In my own experience of reading Mrs. White writing is just like what has been said here. I read STEP TO CHRIST just to improve my English, then the Holy Spirit lovingly and amazingly brought me to JESUS and the Bible. I learn to understand the Bible through Mrs. White writing in my early stage of conversion. Now I see the beautiful truth of the word of God and can't afford to miss my daily Scripture reading. I am absolutely convinced Mrs. White role as appointed by God no matter what others negative opinions are.

I have read through most of the "Spirit Of Prophecy" writings, If you read Daniel and Revelation in one sitting you see a flow of events that took place till He (Jesus) appeared the first time and Revelation takes us through the seven churches and Ellen was part of the "Philadelphia" Church experience then she writes much on the last days (Church of Laodicea) the lukewarmness of the current SDA congregational churches all throughout the world. We have been given much and much will be asked of us on the day of God? Even though she had partly third grade education, how God helped her to write it and its all inspired. "God Breathed" when you read the Bible God gives us understanding. I don't think many Adventists understand what it means to loose salvation if we stay lukewarm possessed with earthly treasures, all of us can see how the heathen nations rage and shocking floods, fires, earthquakes in diverse places (Matt 24), as long as apostasy goes on in America, America will loose everything they worked hard for? God is visiting every nation in Judgement now, for we are living in the hour of His judgement! The apostate churches preach the false gospels and their knowledge on the prophecies are all over the place and deceiving billions! because they have missed the Mark on Christ's ministry in the heavenly Sanctuary since He ascended on High and sat on the right hand of the heavenly Father. One must understand the first angel's message and look at the Commandments of God in Exodus 20: 1-17 then we will understand the second and the third angels' messages. When the latter rain is falling all around us we might miss it because of lack of Spirit and Prayers for us and others, searching of the Scriptures, knowledge won't save us but these knowledge as long as we are led by the Spirit to hold on to Jesus in the "Most Holy Place" having forgiven every sin and be ready to meet Him. Spirit of Prophecy is an excellent pointer to the deep searching of the Scriptures. God bless you!

@@MaryMartinez-lm5tv Make sure that you add 1 to your answer because there is no year zero. Time in years went from 1 BC to 1 AD. 2300 - 1844 = 456 + 1 = 457 BC. Also, prophecy uses time prophetically: 1 day = 1 year. So it's 2300 years, not 2300 days. Yes, GOD, the Holy Spirit is not a man that He should lie. GOD cannot lie. Hope this helps your understanding. 🙏🏾

This is SO helpful to me. I have had to answer people around me who despise EGW and call her a false prophet. This presentation with its many clarifications is refreshing. Such a blessing to my battered soul after dealing with doubters of her ministry from within the church and from without.

Yes, her saying it means she followed the same principle you stated, follow God and not man. So she would agree with you that’s what the Bible teaches. But your reason for saying she is a false prophet makes no sense. People who mistakenly hold her writings over the Bible does not mean she is false, it means that those people are wrong, not her. Whether a prophet is true or false is defined by Isaiah 8:20, not by the actions of some of her followers. Ellen white taught that the Bible is above everything, including her wrotings. A false prophet would not say this. So please explain how peolle mistakenly putting her words above the Bible makes her a false prophet. Out of curiousity, have you ever read her books?

@@chrislucastheprotestantview I have heard of this explanation before. Unfortunately it is incorrect. Let me clarify some things. 1. It's a waste of time discussing the actual month or day the day of Atonement falls on. SDA do not celebrate the day of Atonement. The term is used as a spiritual application only. No one in 1844 was looking for an actual day of Atonement; therefore, trying to explain things in a literal sense is a waste of time. 2. The Scriptures whether in English or Hebrew says 2300 evenings and mornings (or evenings mornings). The Scriptures absolutely do not say 1150 evenings and mornings. Each would no longer be a day. Imagine if in Genesis 1 God created the world in 3 days if we take your reasoning further. That's how silly it is to say the same about 2300 evenings and mornings. Read different Bible versions from varied scholarly commentators; they all typically have "days" or "evenings and mornings" (which is saying ABSOLUTELY the same thing). The Scriptures do not cut the timeline in half. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason AT ALL to do this other than to use it as a THEORY sense other means don't work for those trying to get Antiochus to fulfill it. 3. The word "sacrifices" is not in the Hebrew or originals. Bible translators supplied it to the phrase "daily" BUT it is not in the originals. The "daily", as a result, is referring to other matters than simply sacrifices and has greater spiritual application because the little horn would last till the TIME OF THE END. THE VISION IS FOR THE TIME OF THE END, according to the angel speaking with Daniel; THEREFORE, it is also clear that Antiochus Epiphanes is not the little horn. FURTHERMORE, Jesus referred to the prophecy. How can Antiochus be the fulfillment if Jesus referred to the same prophecy? And FURTHERMORE, how can the little horn antichrist be the fulfillment if Paul himself reminded the church that the prophecy was YET to be fulfilled in the person of the Papacy in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12? So, lots of homework there.

I truly loved this presentation. We should receive all these Testimonies from Jesus given to us in love, we all our hearts. All true Seventh-day-Adventists will believe and preach these 7 doctrines; Salvation, Scripture, Second coming, State of the dead, Spirit of prophecy, Sabbath, Sanctuary.

You are correct..in order for a lost person to be saved..he needs to pray asking Christ to come into his heart..& to bring his dead spirit to life..with His perfect blood. & to cleanse him of his sins in his past & present & future..all in one moment..asking for Christ to come into his heart forever to stay.. setting up an eternal & unbreakable relationship with him..reinging upon the themrone of his heart forever as his Saviour & Lord..salvation is a gift..the gift comes after a sinner prays asking for salvation.

Amen...a very appropriate title to your sermon. And yet, how is it that our present church proclaims a gospel other than that which EGW and the pioneers of our church first established? Why is it that our present fundamental beliefs starkly differ to that which was originally validated by the very Spirit of God, and thereby recorded? The 1872 fundamental principles conflict with that which is documented in our 1980 beliefs. How did this come to be?

The 28 Fundamental Beliefs have 3 God's, look at 3-5. The Bible portrays one (1) God - James 2:19 etc. The White Estate will give you the run around. The Bible says to "ask for the old paths..but they (SDA Church) said "we will not walk therein." Jeremiah 6:16. YES the 1872 Fundamental Principles should be still used!!!

It is far more than a shame to find that our denomination has buried the old truth. They have venerated 'another god'. Our heavenly Father is calling his remnant. Did E. White not have access the New Testement? How could she/they predict the arrival of Jesus Christ in 1844 when according to Scripture, no man knows the day nor the hour, not even Jesus Christ? I would greatly appreciate some insight/answers. Thank you.

Ellen white and others heard him preach it at some point and joined his movement. Why William miller did not take “no one knows the day or hour” into account, I do not know.

@@ladyempire5921 When William miller was preaching the second coming, ellen white was not getting visions yet. She did not start having them until after the great disappointment. And one thing that she taught after that was that “no one knows the day nor hour”. She was very adamant that predictions about the second coming were not allowed. So she would agree with you that “no one knows the day nor hour”. Her writings follow the Bible very well. We do not hold her writings above the Bible, not even she did. She made it clear that her writings were not meant to replace the Bible. Some may have put her writings above the Bible, but I have not met any that do this and I have been an Adventist for over 20 years.

I think we are overly sensitive to placating those that are unconverted in the Church in regard to the authority of Ellen White. Those that are genuinely converted will hear the voice of the good Shepherd in her writings. We don't need to be equivocal about our certainty in the authority behind her writings.

what is the ethinicity of ellen white? just curious!

Christ is our Sabbath rest. He instructed to come to Him to find rest. He is the Lord of the Sabbath rest. Paul tried to emphasize this as believers argued over days to worship. It was the Jews major flaw in dealing with scripture, making it legalistic and physical. Christ is our Sabbath rest, which makes every day holy and sacred.

Ellen White, investigative judgment, Michael being Christ, etc. Christ came to save the sinner, not the righteous man, yet she teaches that only those worthy, those without sin, can be saved. She taught a false gospel, saying Christ's death was the beginning of salvation even though Christ said , " It is finished," not , " it has begun."

Did Ellen G. White write anything in her books and in her articles or in her correspondence or say anything in her sermons about the involvement of Africans in the slave trade? I would like to have references to that.

If we are people of the book, and Ellen White always pointed people to the book, and we believe in the principle of Sola Scriptura, then why do we need Ellen White and continue to quote her? Shouldn't the Bible be all we need?

Why do you listen to sermons since you have your Bible? If you know and believe that listening to good and godly sermons is right then reading and quoting Ellen books is also similar to listening to sermons. And as long as her writings is not against the scripture then why should we despise and her writings so much. I have come to realize that many in the SDA church hate to hear anything about Ellen white simply because her writings are rebuke to their lives, those who hate ELLEN WHITE writings are the enemy of the church and are not ready to change their attitude base on her writings and warnings. Just as the pharisees saw Jesus as a threat to them so also many in the church today are the descendants of the pharisees, they hate the sayings and writings of ELLEN WHITE, her writings are simply threat to their ungodly lives.

Even Sis White (as she was called back then) herself encouraged others to first go to the scriptures... not her testimonies. She was a messenger of God pointing all to the scriptures- God's word.

Yes, she did but since the Bible states that if you really want to have any gift, the gift of prophecy is the best one to chose so God decided to give to Seventhdayv adventists.

we say her writings direct us to scriptures but the church often directs us to her writings, I think this is issue, especially for younger generations. After her, was there no one else who had insight which also contributed to the church? Also I have wondered so much about the investigative judgment and its Biblical basis. Our salvation through Jesus sacrifice for us isn’t that complete? thanks for any insight

The investigative judgement has its biblical foundation several ways: 1) revelation 22:12 Jesus said He is coming with rewards. That means who gets what reward has already been determined. Which then means this was “investigated” before He returns. 2) check out anytime God pronounced judgment on anyone (Adam/eve, Sodom and Gomorrah, the flood, babel, etc). There are many examples of an investigation being done prior to judgment in the Bible. 3) Daniel shows books being opened before the second coming (Daniel 7:10)

EGW's writings, or original books more specifically, have been changed by re-editing and now have become the focus of SDA members to keep reading in place of the greater light, aka, the Authorized Bible, aka, the KJV. God did not give anyone the authorization to change or mess with the words of his prophets, including his prophets.

How are these paintings not a transgression of 10 commandments. I am not here to argue, I am trying to wrap my head around Ellen white, I have accepted the Sabbath of God, I don't know what to do with that yet. I also caught young men would have visions, why would scripture say this and then it be a young woman.

I know that Adventist would never admit this, but it seems to me that in Adventism (besides the few who come as believers from other churches, probably "convicted" about the Sabbath) the order of knowledge is Ellen White --> the Bible --> Jesus. So logically, you are viewing the Bible and Jesus through the lens of Ellen White visions. Very similar what the Catholics have in visions of their saints and Mary and so on. Very disturbing.

Hi Friend, No, we don't see the Bible or Jesus through Ellen White. We would never admit that we do because that is not true. There may be some here and there who might have such a view, which is wrong; that is not something that we teach. Take a look at all of our fundamental doctrines; you will see that all of them come directly from the Bible. A simple question - why is Jesus doing the work in heaven, as you say - investigated judgment, according to the law and levitical priesthood when Hebrew 7,8,9,10 says that He - is a priest according to the Melchisedek so therefore the law neccesary needed to be changed (7:18,19,28) and He entered into the Heaven itself which is said that is earthly Holy of Holies (9:12,24; 10:12)?

No, I didn't miss that point. But my question is: Why Ellen G. White's works are important to understand to understand the Word of God? If she were a woman of God( God knows better) what about other men of God? Now is it that we need to know about all other men of God ( not mentioned in the Bible) and then we should advance to study the Word of God? Is it biblical? Are you appointed by God to tell your audience all this - preaching Ellen White? Answer me after visiting God.

"The church has turned back from following Christ her leader and is steadily retreating toward Egypt." 5T 217 "The church is in the Laodicean state. The presence of God is not in her midst." LDE 49

Doing anything God requires is a test of faith. For example, the sabbath. It takes a good amount of faith to reject a high paying job that requires work on the sabbath. I was unemployed for a year after I retired from the military because everyone I interviewed with wanted me to work on sabbath. I finally got a job that did not require work on sabbath. God got us through the time of unemployment until He opened up an opportunity for me. So keeping the sabbath is a test of faith.

@justamessenger4577 keeping the Saturday sabbath is the sign of being in a non-christian cult..to be saved our faith needs to rest in the new testament resurrection of Christ..his body was dead in the grave on Saturday..nothing was done on Saturday.. nothing can save no one..to be saved, there has to be the resurrection of Christ & the new life in Christ involved.

@@charlesmargolin6832 It is clear you do not know what SDA believe. Let me make this clear. We don’t keep the sabbath to be saved, this is a very common misconception that is not unique to you. We are saved by the grace of God, that is one of our foundational beliefs. We keep the sabbath because we are saved and becasue we love Jesus. And as you said, we hold to the promise of the resurrection because Jesus was resurrected. No SDA would disagree with you. Now that you know what SDA believe in this area, do you still think we are a cult? Especially since when it comes to being saved, we believe the same thing you do? And Jesus being in the grave on sabbath and “nothing happening” on the sabbath does not change anything.

I'm not a member of the SDA. Read through Lev 11 , Acts 15 :21 , Eph 2 :12 , Matt 9;16-19 , John 14:15, 1John 5:2-3 , Romans 13:9 , Deut 2:28. I can list more scripture for you if needed. Have you ever heard the expression you are what you eat ? Do you realize the animals that roll around in or eat their own excrement literally carry parasites and bacterium ? Have you ever heard that approximately 90% or more of all disease known to man is related to gut health ? I'm looking into these topics since, if nothing else, it's logical and biblical. A neighbor just gave me some of Ellen Whites writings. Very interesting, so far.

We are the Sanctuary that Christ is preparing, We are the Place that Christ is gone to Prepare, so that where he is, we will be Also. Where is Christ? Christ is at the Right hand of His Father, Where is the Right of the Father? Is God's Word, the POWER to Speak the Word of God with Boldness, With Authority, with Courage, Without Fear and Trembling. That's How Christ was fill with the Holy Ghost, and that's Where he want us to be with him. Heaven is not a Place you go to, The Kingdom of Heaven is Within Us. Christ is the Church, And the Church is Within Us. That's the Truth. Christ is the RESSURRECTION Christ is the Life. Christ is the Beginning Christ is the End Christ Gospel is the End. When we hear the Gospel that's when the End Come, because the The Gospel of Christ is the End.

I think that you are trying to speak the truth..but you may have confused your words..but not on purpose..the kingdom of God is within you..that is when you are saved..the kingdom of Heaven Imis the 1000 yr. reign of Christ upon this earth following the 7 yrs of tribulation upon this earth..which follows the rapture of the church from the earth..the church is the bride of Christ..the church is the body of Christ..Christ is at the right hand of God..in heaven..sitting upon His throne there..but He is also sitting forever upon the throne in the heart of each Christian..as His eternal Saviour & Lord.

There are saved churches are there are lost churches..there are churches that are mixed with both saved & lost people..the church is just a gathering of people..the church of Laodicea was lost..Christ was knocking upon the door. Wanting to come in..to prepare them for the rapture & the marriage supper of the Lamb..but they would not let Him in..so that church will go into the tribulation..some may be saved by the preaching of Moses & Elijah..but many.. if not all..with receive the strong delusion of the antichrist..because they will believe his lies..the church of Philadelphia is raptured to the safety of heaven..that church will go the marriage supper of the Lamb & judgement seat of Christ to receive rewards..some Christians at the marriage supper of the Lamb will be seated at the end of the table in outer darkness.. weeping & gnashing their teeth for 1007 yrs..but with the new heaven & new earth...when this old earth & universe is restored..their tears & bad memories will be wiped away..they backslid into heaven by the skin of their teeth..& they were saved so as by fire..like Aninias and Sapphira.

One thing I know about prophecy if it's really from God there are no mistakes..Never

But how do these visions differ, for example, from the visions that people have with the Virgin Mary in Fatima, Medjugorje, etc.? They also see Mary talking to them about Jesus, she doesn't say anything bad. As you said, visions can also be from Satan and what is being said should match the Bible. True, but Satan knows God's word too. I'm a little skeptical about these things, especially when someone says they saw Jesus. Which Jesus? We know about Jesus' appearance only from movies, but that is not the real Jesus, that is what the film production presented to us. No one except the people who stayed with Him has any idea what He looks like. And wouldn't a man die on the spot if he saw Him? At least that's how it happened in the Bible and that's why God says that no one has ever seen Him and blessed are those who don't need proof to believe (like the unbelieving Thomas). Or people who died for a moment and then came back to life They also say that they saw Jesus, heaven, etc. They don't say anything bad that would draw people away from Jesus. But did they really see Him? Or did someone pretend to be Him and of course that he will not directly say bad things about Him because he would reveal himself but will lead people to think that there is an afterlife or something wrong that will distract them from Jesus as it happens with Mary, numerous Catholic saints, etc. I don't know..I would stick only to the Bible
