Ella Odyssey | FIRST CLASS | Most Beautiful Train ride in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
Ella Odyssey, A luxury train service from Kandy to Ella has started 5th March 2022. Ella Odyssey train will operate daily leaving Kandy at 7 AM and reaching Demodara at 2.20 PM, and leaving Demodara at 3.40 PM. and reaching Kandy at 9.45 PM. This is very important initiative by Sri Lanka Rail Way Department which greatly help for the development of Sri Lanka Tourism.
Kandy to Ella train journey one of most scenic and beautiful train journey in South Asia climbing through lush green tea estates, waterfalls, tunnels which create super adventurous feeling. There is a high demand for the Kandy Ella train from both local and international travelers but there were only few daily trains operated and the Ella Odyssey train will be a great addition to the Sri Lanka tourism.
Ella Odyssey is a luxury train for the first time Sri Lanka consisting first and second class compartment together with restaurant cabin. This will have around 176 Air con first class seats and over 144 second class seats in this train branded as ‘Ella Odyssey’ which will be operated by Sri Lanka Railway Department.
This tourist oriented luxury Ella Odyssey train will stop at 12 stations including nine tourist attractions such as St. Clair Falls, Great Western, Railway Station, Algin Waterfall, Pattipola, Idalgashinna, Demodara Nine Arch Bridge.which are the most scenic places between Kandy & Ella Railway stations. The train will stop at these locations for a few minutes for tourists to enjoy the scenery and capture photos and videos.

5:37 These train coaches are Manufactured in ICF, Chennai, INDIA and exported to Srilanka by Indian Railways. ICF is currently manufacturing all the Vande Bharat trains

Hope you guys enjoy the journey.This train ride is all about scenic journey and not for speedy or punctual trains.From Kandy to Badulla a single track is available for trains and trains can pass each other in the stations only and that means one train is waiting for other one and that all add up as delays.

Do not stick your head outside when traveling through this hilly area. When traveling by train to Ella, be cautious as there are several tunnels along the journey. Recently, I heard about a tourist who lost his life after hitting a tunnel while he had his head outside
