This is a video of me taking the Elizabeth Line for the first time from Paddington to Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 on a Class 345 Train. I went on holiday and tried out the brand new Elizabeth Line for the first time. I was in a hurry to catch a flight so I ran towards the train and managed to board in the nick of time!
The Elizabeth Line is currently split into several segments, one of them runs from Paddington to Heathrow Airport or Reading. The service I travelled on stops at the Acton Main Line Station, Ealing Broadway, Hanwell, Southall and Hayes and Harlington on the way to the airport. It used to be operated by Heathrow Connect before being transferred to the Tfl Rail and finally Crossrail, forming part of the Elizabeth Line. This service departs from Platforms 11, 12 or 14 as of Paddington Station as of June 2022.
I have created a new version of the video with closed captions to share my feelings during the train journey and to let you know the stations the train would be stopping at. For this video, I was in the rear carriage of the train when it departed from Paddington before making my way to Carriage 7 as the train entered Hanwell station because that station had a short platform. I would stay in that carriage for the remainder of the ride.
